I purchased the UltraPak+ upgrade of BIAB2022. I also purchased the USB hard drive of it. I had initially intended to wait for the USB hard drive to arrive and install from that but I decided to give the new one-click download-and-install application a try. It seemed to work just fine. HOWEVER, now that I have the USB hard drive, I decided to see if the installed download version matched the USB hard drive version. IT DOES NOT MATCH! At least the Windows version doesn't match.

Using Windows Explorer I decided to copy all the contents of the Drums, RealTracks,Styles, and Soloist folders from the USB hard drive to my bb installation on my internal hard drive.

Here is what I found:

Drums -- Windows explorer reported there were 13,263 files to copy. Of those, 9710 were duplicates of what I had on my hard drive. That means that 3553 Drums files had NOT been installed by the dowload!

RealTracks -- Windows Explorer reported there were 171,301 files to copy. Of those 165,729 were duplicates of what I had on my hard drive. That means that 5572 RealTracks had NOT been installed by the download!

Styles -- Windows Explorer reported 10,056 files to copy. Of those, 9756 were duplicates of what I had on my hard drive. That means that 300 files had NOT been installed by the download! That included 150 .stx and 150 .sty files. After running the slow rebuild in my BIAB2022 StylePicker window, I ended up with exactly 150 MORE styles than I had when I had just been using the downloaded version.

Soloists -- Windows Explorer reported 5284 files to copy. Of those, they were all duplicates. That means that the download had actually installed the correct number of Soloist files.

Following on the heels of my unfortunate and frustrating experience with the XtraStylesPaks1-12 installation (and how long it took me to convince tech support that there was a problem!)I find this very disconcerting. It appears that whatever routine is building the download versions at PGMusic is not including everything it should.

I feel badly for the people who have purchased only the download version of the program and don't have anything to compare their installation against to be sure they've got all that they paid for. And I'm angry that I had to pay the extra fee for the hard drive version just to get all that I have paid for when I bought the upgrade!
i'm not sure if this is related, but i just upgraded from BIAB 2021 Pro to 2022 UltraPAK, and i noticed that most of the RealTracks were missing from the new download manager. it had listed RealTracks 376-400 (i believe those are the new ones for 2022?) and some of the early ones - i want to say about 1-20 but i can't remember for sure - but everything in the middle was missing. i was able to download the missing RTs using BIAB's built-in download manager rather than the standalone one.

in my case it was rather obvious that most of the RTs were missing, but if only a few had been missing rather than almost all of them, i might not have noticed. i was intending to report this as a bug, but i figured it was some sort of teething problem with the new download manager...

edit: i just started the (new) download manager again to check, and now all of the RealTracks are correctly listed.
BIAB 2021 Pro to 2022 UltraPAK is an update and only DLs the new content not old content. Right??

i wondered about that, but (i just edited my post to mention) the download manager is now showing all the content, not just the update content. so it seems inconsistent either way.

hm: perhaps it depends on whether "Upgrade from previous" is checked - in which case that makes sense and it's not related to the OP's issue. sorry for hijacking the thread :-)

(i do think that behaviour is a bit confusing, though.)
I got a very helpful reply from Simon in tech support -- he asked two simple questions:
1) did I have "upgrade from previous version" checked or unchecked
2) did all 90 or so files listed complete the download and install

I did indeed check the box for "upgrade from previous version" thinking that I should be honest with the software and that I would still get everything installed. I was definitely wrong about that!

The one-click download-and-install program only showed 12 files to be installed when I had the upgrade from previous version box checked. I just ran that program to see what would happen, and when I UNchecked that box, all the 90 or so files that Simon had asked about appeared. Why any installation program wouldn't guarantee that everything a person has paid for get installed escapes my ability to understand.

Needless to say, I am now running a complete install from the hard-drive version of BIAB2022.

I wonder how many other people thought that having that Upgrade From Previous Version box checked would still get everything they had paid for installed?

In any event DON'T check that box if you want everything you've paid for to be installed.
