I would like to play my chords into the chordsheet from the keyboard instrument. But I don't see that the keyboard is going into biab at all. It takes me to the Cakewalk TTS as if I am not going through Biaab itsel. Have they changed this? I can't display the ports anywhere.
Are the locations different between Mac and win versions. I have windows, but I am studying Biab with the instructure on the Mac OS are they very different? He says the ports are under options, and the chordbuilder is under Tools, but I see no tools menu on the win version.
In general, the settings and standards having to do with audio may be different on a Mac from a Windows PC.
Interesting. As far as I know, there is no version of the TTS-1 soft synth that works on a Mac. The TTS-1 is offered by Cakewalk by Bandlab which operate only on Windows.

Band-in-a-Box for Windows and Band-in-a-Box for Mac handle audio and MIDI differently.

Band-in-a-Box for Mac audio and MIDI settings can be accessed on the top menu by navigating to Options > CoreMIDI AudioMIDI Setup ... or through the keystrokes Command+M.
Quote:
The menu item opens the Apple® Audio Devices and MIDI Studio dialogs, which control the system settings for audio and MIDI. There are two separate windows for Audio Devices and MIDI Studio. Each window has its own Apple Help topic, which opens by clicking on the [?] button.
I found this information in Chapter 1 of the 2022 Band-in-a-Box for Mac online manual +++ HERE +++

+++ Chapter 10 +++ describes recording and working with MIDI using BiaB for Mac.
The input device here is set to the Chord Pad but you set it to the keyboard.

EDIT: also this Enter Chords into the Chord Sheet with a Keyboard Tool Win

I think a typo may have us confused. Did you say you are running BIAB on Windows, but your instructor has a Mac?
Yes I am working on a Windows PC, but I am not finding whats in the options core on the mac on the pc. The ports aren't listed under the Ctrl E menu on the windows platform. Yes the instructor has a mac I subscribe to Groove3 which is an excellent resource for learning how to use your musical gear.
Thank you but on my options midi I am getting no choice that will allow me to input into the chord builder by my keyboard. or the chords page. I am using a Casio Ct x-3000 keyboard.

I have never seen this feature in BIAB? crazy
Only one chord at a time, by using MIDI Chord Detection.
Well I'll be, it appears to work, the window captures the chord I play and with a ctlr/enter places it in the chord chart. I have never tried that till now.

Here is where I set up my Keyboard midi controller.

Oh, yes. I use this all the time. I don’t play keyboard but I know the notes in the chord, and BIAB will give me up to four chords to choose from (and yes, then you can enter one of these choices into the Chordsheet.

I can’t tell you how many times since 1996 (including the previous forum for BIAB) I have extolled the benefits of this feature, and very few seem to believe me and actually try it. Now, there are a variety of third party utilities that can do this, but for decades BIAB had this to themselves. And none of those other utilities enter the chord into your song.

This is chords being input live with a keyboard to a set tempo with a metronome

Thanks I got it to work. Thank you so much. It's a little bit of a hack, but it works. Thanks. eek I love Biab
OK the section underneath how do I bring that up or is that also a separate addon. What other add on scripts have you made things for. This is kind of like Arex on Amiga.
OK I lookws it up and xotopad only works for people working with a touch screen. Do they have a version for Biab that would work with a kindle fire or android phone (probably too small.

xotopad works with mouse clicks, but you can make one with AutoHotkey.

There are lots of scripts in the UserTracks (and other add-ons)
