Sometimes it is helpful to have the option to upload BiaB files to this forum for demonstrating potential song specific user problems.

Unfortunately, the current forum software does not allow uploads of such files. It would be good if the current restriction on file extensions could be relaxed for this Forum.

If you click on Bar 1 then Ctrl+C then in this window Ctrl+V
you can click the # above and select code and paste it between.
Then the users will copy the txt below and on their Bar 1 they will Ctrl+Shift+V
You won't get F5 settings or extra tracks though as it just loads in the tracks for the Style, so that needs fixing one of these days.
Code:
[Song] [Title BritBluesInvasion Piano & Band RealTracks Demo]
[File _BRITJON demo.SGU]
[Key C ] [Tempo 120] [Form 1-32*1]
[.Sty _BRITJON.STY] [Style British Blues Invasion Piano]
[Memo]
This demo features the BritBluesInvasionJohn piano RealTracks style, joining previously released electric bass, 2 electric guitars, and the RockClassicBritEv RealDrums style. This upbeat groove is reminiscent of the blues-infused British Invasion bands of the 60s. The progression starts off with a very basic I-V-I pattern, which repeats for 16 bars, and then breaks the pattern by modulating to the relative minor.

For diagnostic purposes it is way better, if not indispensable, to have the problematic .mgu file under scrutiny.

However until that happens another solution is to load the sgu/mgu file to cloud storage, create a link and post a link to the file in the thread where you're discussing your issue.

One of the other items you do not get via this method is any tags you have in the song. Those are dropped out also.

The developers need to see this also so they can hopefully get it fixed via a patch in the future.

Are you saying tags are not saved in a sgu or mgu file or are you referring to the text file method musocity suggested? Musocity's way is fine in many instances but may not be enough information in all instances. Posting the song file may not provide enough information in some instance. There are times when an audio file will help move a discussion forward.

For this discussion the best way to present a sgu or mgu file to the forum is by storing the sgu or mgu file online and then post a link to the file in the discussion forum thread.

I interpreted this as the tags are not saved in the text file method.

I think it's a reasonable request.
A host server for small files like an SGU wouldn't need to be huge, could be protected by a variety of shields and could be set up to shred any item related to a resolved problem after X.
It's odd that folk spend energy trying to discount a decent idea when they could leave that to the company who could explains their reasons IF it sees it as a problem.

Jim: On the sgu file I worked with that had a tag in it, using the textfile method that musocity suggested, when I pasted the text file into a blank new files screen, the tags were not there. I am sure that the tags would be there in an online file that was downloaded just fine.

That is correct. See my reply to Jim Fogle. Tags are not present in the copied text file that I can see.

Here is the song form as a text file and you can compare that to the actual screen shot of the song, which has a tag at bar 31

I'm not discounting the idea. If my comments come across that way, it is not my intent.

I thought this thread was about offering ways that a sgu or mgu file can be made available to forum members to further a discussion, not presenting an idea.

Saying the forum is not set up so forum members can attach sgu or mgu files is a fact, not discounting an idea.

Perhaps the discussion would have a different feel if the idea was presented in the +++ Other Programs Wishlist +++ forum section.

I'm ready to support the idea when it's presented where forum members can discuss the idea.

jcland, thank you for clarifying your earlier statement.
