Wrong

This is my Xtra Styles competition entry in the Rock-Pop category.
I used the _ALAMO style which is a great Texas Rock/Pop style with nice chimey guitars. Once again BIAB came up with the goods and let me concentrate on getting the idea down before it was forgotten.

I added the vocals and the guitar solo at the end afterwards. I was trying to get a Tom Scholz sound on the solo – took a lot of tweaking before I found a sound that was even close. His sound is still unique even after all these years!

Such a cool blending of voices, your trademark it seems!
Beautiful chord progression and beautiful singing line.
One small nit, the guitar solo (you played by yourself?) although very cool, seems a tiny bit too heavy for the song.
But that's just my opinion ;-)
All in all you've kicked up this category a couple of notches

Wow, thanks for the great comments Alyn! I absolutely love Del Amitri so maybe some of that has rubbed off on me. "Nothing Ever Happens" is one of my all time favourites. Hope your neighbours are still talking to you




Many thanks Rob. Yes I see your point about the "heaviness" of the solo. It took me so many takes to get it how it is now (mistakes and all). If I get time I might redo the ending with a different style of solo and see if it works better. I'm thinking something more Gilmourish.
