Hi all. Here's my entry for the Jazz category, using the _Equator style. Here's the link:

https://soundcloud.com/user-642613970/saguaros

This is an instrumental tune. I'm playing clarinet, all else is from the style, and the violin is a soloist.
I am continually fascinated by the Saguaros here in Tucson, and this tune was inspired by those crazy cacti. I used Logic X to put it together. I'd appreciate any and all comments; I'm very new at using Logic!

Here's the information from the song memo:
Title: Saguaros
Key=G , Tempo 140, Length (m:s)=5:47
8 bar intro, 48 bar chorus, from bar 9 to bar 56. Repeat x4 choruses
Soloist track has 260 notes, Soloist harmony is <no harmony>
Song is saved with Volume, Pan, Reverb, Chorus, Bank0,
Style is _EQUATOR.STY

SaxMarc

I really like the smooth style you captured here, the choice of real track styles is perfect.

Nice job, for sure.

Marc,

I agree with Videotrack... very smooth indeed. Great clarinet playing! I thoroughly enjoyed it. When I looked up what a Saguaros cactus looked like, I realised that I've seem them many times in movies over the years... just never knew their proper name!

All the best,
Noel

Very nice tune.

It would be great to hear a version with your clarinet a bit closer and more present. It sounds like it is way across the room. Is the original audio that way or have you got some reverb on the track that you could pull back? I'd love to hear a mix with the clarinet right up close (or even just a little bit less distant)... though the way you've got it is growing on me with subsequent listens.

Your playing perfectly suits the song and is well composed and performed.
