Though I have been in the music business all my life, I'm somewhat new to recording technology. Apologies if this is an idiotic question . . .

I want to record a guitar track on track 1
Then add an effect to the guitar on track 1 (let's say reverb)
I then want to send that reverb effect (just the effect) to track 2 and record it there.

Third step is the problem. Sending just the effect signal and recording it eludes me. I have searched the manual and Youtube, but am unsure if I am even using the correct terminology to form an intelligent question and/or valid search.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Don,

We will need some clarification on what exactly you're asking how to do. Based on what you've provided so far, it sounds like it might be easier to just record on track two with the effect you desire instead of moving it if the intention is just to end up moving it away from track one, but perhaps we are not quite understanding the exact question. If you'd like to clarify on why you're wanting to move this to track 2 instead of simply recording from the get-go from track 2, that would be helpful! We just want to make sure we fully understand what you are looking to achieve. Also, can you clarify what version of RealBand you're using?

If it's easier, you're always welcome to e-mail support@pgmusic.com directly and our technicians are always happy to help and answer any questions you may have!

Thank you,
Ember

I'd just copy track 1 to track 2, use the same FX and change the reverb mix to 100% wet.
Voila; track two has just the reverb FX sound of track 1.
If you need to unload the FX on track 2 just render it to audio with the FX first and import back in.

Or open the reverb in the aux buss, and send each track there and adjust to taste.
