i have powertracks pro audio 11 also mixing desk 2442 with
4 sub outs
i use them for recording my wife and myself
my problem is when im recording and i set the levels thru
the desk to powertracks and the level is good
how can i put up volume on vocals on earphones without
messing up the levels on powertracks
how i set up desk and computer is as follows
i take a y cable from mixing desk sub out to computer
and from computer with y cable back to mixer
i have my backing tracks in powertracks to sing along with
and when i need to hear more volume on vocals i have to put mic channel up
and that effects the input levels on powertracks
im i doing something wrong
thank you

Can you turn the levels down on the backing tracks and turn the volume output up on you audio device.

Wow, that's about a 10 year old version of PowerTracks.

If you don't want to mess with your levels, one thing I would try would be to render your backing tracks to a stereo wav file, then open that file in a new PowerTracks project, adjust the volume to accommodate the vocal and record it to a track in that new file. Once you have it the way you want it, just save that vocal track to a wav file and bring it back in to the original project file.

It'll take about as long to do that as it took me to type this response.

Just an idea.
