When I opened a .seq file I've been working on daily for months a popup came up and said "File has invalid data". File worked and played fine. Any idea what this is or how to fix it?
Thanks!
Bernie

suggest for safety while its working you save it under another name just in case. then try opening both files - the old one and the renamed one. if the error persists on the old one but not the new one, continue with the new one.

no idea what has caused it but better to use a file with no problems than persist with one that might deteriorate further.

mind you shutting down the pc and restarting might get rid of the error!

If I ever see this error I usually go see if I can find the last backup file PT created .. right away if possible. (File-Open Special-Open Backup)

Revert back to a known good copy and you can continue to work with confidence.
If a file reports an error, I'm not comfortable continuing to move forward.
I'd rather have a safe working copy.

Using Save As can solve some issues (like corrupted drive section or read/write issues) but still makes me nervous sometimes.
Often enough it works just fine though.

Just thought I'd post another possible solution if the issue is caught early on.
Some users don't think about the backup file (or don't know it exists) in the moment.
