my song ends at bar 82. it was fine - RB stopped after the shaded bars ended. changed the tempo - all the tracks are RealTracks and now RB continues to play after bar 82 even though it's silent

am i missing something simple?

Hi Bob,

Which version and build of RealBand are you referring to?

Thanks

I've heard of this problem before with RealBand but thought it was fixed. What version are you running? That is always important information for getting assistance.
Did you check this thread?

RB 2018 with the latest patch. Will lok at the suggestions in the other thread

solved the problem by selecting every track and 'edit cut close gap' from end of song to bar 1000.............

Incidentally when does a song end for RB purposes - when the last note is played or when the sound has died away?

I have audio data in the bar after the last note was played

thanks everyone but its still a 'bug'

Agreed.
RB should stop when either the last MIDI Event happens (if no audio) or when the last audio track finishes playing the audio.

Glad that little trick worked for you. There must have been some extraneous data farther down the line or an audio track never sent the End Of File message (or something like that).
Cut-Close Gap has always worked here.

Don't know if this is the problem, but I have found over the years that when you do a lot of track edits, some of those edits appear at the very end of the track (I mean way out there, like 10 minutes later). I thought this was fixed and don't know if that's the problem here, but lots of edits have resulted in the song playing past the end.

Also, occasionally, a stray MIDI command gets set "way out there", too, and that then becomes the new end of the song.

Likewise, my solution has generally been to highlight everything from the end of the song to the end of the track itself and that usually fixes it.

It's one of those weird things that rears its head occasionally. I don't know what causes it each time, but the fix usually works.
