I haven't used Realband for ages, and I've forgotten what to do.
When I load a song from BIAB into Realband it plays as MIDI, rather that audio.
What am I doing wrong?
I'm using BIAB/RB 2020.

HI

A song that uses a midi style and no realtracks or realdrums will be in midi and require a synth.
A song made from a realstyle will be audio.
Some songs and styles use both and some just use realdrums and midi.
Many are all realstyles and realdrums and wont require a synth at all as they are audio.

You may want to render your midi songs to audio if you prefer to work in audio,
But you will loose the ability to fine edit the midi dater for note length and pitch.

Not sure what your question was.
Do you need to 'Reroute all MIDI to default DXi synth' to hear the MIDI?

That's on the Options Prefs MIDI devices tab.
You can also assign each track to a synth using the right-click - Port option. Ports 17 - 32 allow software synths.

You may like having RB behave like RiaB and regenerate all the blue tracks at once, but I prefer to use right-click - 'Track - Make all BB tracks regular tracks' so it acts more like a DAW and I get more control over the tracks.

Or maybe you were wanting to right-click - Generate and use Realtracks and Realdrums..

Thanks Mike & Bob.
I'm sorry, I should have been more specific.
The song in question is a mixture of MIDI & Realtracks. I use my keyboard through the Ketron and then save in BIAB. I then go into Realband and open the file; this is where it is all MIDI sounding.

I know I'm missing a simple step or steps, but I can't remember what.
Any guidance appreciated.

In BiaB are you saving as SGU file or a MID file?
Normally RTs should open in RB if it is a SGU file.
