RealBand Users,

Please help.

How to export drums and bass to separate files from RealBand (RB)?

Here is what I have done so far.
I loaded a Biab file into RB
I generated it in RB.
I played it in RB.
I want to export to WAV or MP3 files, 1 file per track.
I clicked Export Selection in RB.
It says No Audio Data In Highlighted Area To Export For Track 1.

I think my questions are something like this...

So how do I select tracks for export?

How do I export to 1 file for drums and 1 file for bass?

Please advise.

Thanks.

So how do I select tracks for export? Click on a track to bring the track into focus then use the keystrokes Control + A (Ctrl+A) to select all the track.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to RealBand and to the forum. I hope this answered your question. I see you've been a forum member for awhile but don't post to much. Great to hear from you!

@ Jim Fogle,

I appreciate your reply.

However, I am sad to report that I did what you said and it did not work as I hoped it would.

Here is the screenshot of what happened.

Here is what I did.

I clicked on the first track.

I did a CTRL+A to select the track.

I clicked on the Export Selection button.

And I got the "no audio" warning.

Please LMK if you have any other ideas.

(Maybe I did something wrong.)

Thanks.

Mark. Track 1 in your image is MIDI data and not audio.

<< I want to export to WAV or MP3 files, 1 file per track. >>

You must assign a VST Midi instrument to that track and render it to audio first.
You are using MIDI tracks, so there is no Audio until you Render the MIDI to Audio.
Use the above mentioned method to select the whole track.
Then right-click and 'Auto Convert' the MIDI to wav using the option shown in image below.

All,

I appreciate your excellent help VERY much.

I have a solution that works for me.

I understand now that a MIDI track does NOT yet have an actual audio component, so the MIDI needs to be generated to AUDIO via a VSTi/DXi, (more or less?) and so on.

But, I found an easier way is what I am doing-- use RealTracks!!!

I create the song in Band In A Box (BIAB) and use all RealTracks.

I open the song in RealBand (RB) there.

I choose > Render, > Save All Tracks To Individual Files.

I get a folder with 1 WAV file for each track.

That is EXACTLY what I wanted.

Here is a screenshot, just in case.

Thank you.

Yes, that works too, as long as the tracks are Audio smile
You previously had MIDI, so now you know how to do it both ways.
Mark,

I'm glad you found a solution to your issue and have the audio files you want.

Way to go!
