Why can't you import an mp4 file?

As I use the iTouch App and save files in the BB2go folder as mp4, I would like the ability to load the same files in Realband or PowerTracks or indeed band in a box.

I don't think mp4 was ever meant to specificlly be an audio format. There are plenty of programs out there, many of them that are free, that will convert mp4s to mp3s for you.
