I use to upgrade every year to the yearly BIAB but haven’t done so in a while. Should I get the 2023 Mac edition or hold off until the 2024 edition comes out?

It depends. If you have updated to macOS 14 Sonoma and you need BIAB to work right now, then 2023 is required and there's no workaround.

Otherwise, if the version that you have still works, you may want to hold out till 2024 is released. Historically, that happens sometime between March and September.

I also suggest you hold off till the 2024 release if you can.
