I have used the Woodshed feature many times. It definitely gets the job done. For practicing certain things (etudes, scales, etc.), having a rhythm section gets in the way. I was thinking: Is there a way to use the Woodshed feature, but only have the sound of a metronome playing? Sort of like having a click track that increases the tempo in a user-defined way.

If you look under "Utility" category in the style picker, you can find several metronome styles (metronom1.sty, etc). If none of these are exactly what you're looking for, it would probably be a pretty easy style to make yourself.
