I'm not able to post a screen shot but I have used bar settings several times successfully.

I have now created a song but bar settings won't allow me to mute any of the tracks. There are no drop down menus under volume and next to the instrument types. It is just grey. Any idea how to rectify this. I have changed the style several times thinking different instruments might have the option to be muted.

I am not aware that I have created this song any differently to the others but I have only been using BIAB for a few days.

Which exact version and build of Band-in-a-Box are you running? You can find out by clicking on the Band-in-a-Box menu, then About Band-in-a-Box.

Also, are those boxes still missing if you close and reopen the program?

I have just created a new song, typed the chords back in and now it is all ok. I can now mute the instruments

As a new user I thought there may have been special curcumstances when it didn't work or the option wasn't available but I guess its just one of those computer things that's fixed by starting again.
