I saw this buried in another forum post but I am experiencing the same issue and wondering if this and issue that has been identified by others and resolved or is isolated only to myself.


"iCloud drive may not work properly. Please check the iCloud preference panel"

It should have nothing to do with iCloud but never say never.

If you have all apps storing on iCloud, it could be a thing.

Did you check your iCloud preferences?
Thank you. I did check my iCloud preferences.

I guess this may be coincidental as opposed to causal but the timing was just so.

I'll boot up from another drive, run disk first-aid and see if the problem is eliminated.

I'll update after this. Thanks again.
Quick follow-up:

Disk first-aid did not correct the 'missing helper' problem. I ended up reinstalling the OS and that did not eliminate the issue either. Another post in a non-BITB forum suggested signing out of iCloud - not quite a 1,2,3 process - and that seemed to correct the issue. No root cause determined but still very coincidental with the installation of BITB.

Never say never is a software truism. :-)
