I need to get a new Mac, with the Apple Silicon chip, and want to be able to run BIAB. Have you tested whether it runs ok under Rosetta 2? Are there plans to release a version updated for Apple Silicon?

Hello Robert, I can't comment on a version specifically for the Apple chips as I'm not in development, but we do have an ARM Mac Mini here and Band-in-a-Box works well on it, presumably using Rosetta 2. There are still some issues with macOS Big Sur that we're working out, as the OS only released yesterday, but we haven't experienced these issues directly, only through user reports.

When apps are compatible with Big Sur, they should be able to run on the M1.

In other words, we’ll know what we know when we know — you know?

Thanks Simon and Mike - that's good news.

To clarify, yes we are working on it, but the version of Band-in-a-Box that is currently shipping is NOT completely compatible with the new Apple Silicon chip.
