BIAB MacOS can "Write a detailed Bootup Log" - 01/21/22 03:18 PM
I wanted to see if BIAB kept a log under MacOS, so I ran Activity Monitor to see what files it had open, and there was nothing like that, so I assumed not.
But it can, if you know the secret and ask it to politely.
I just discovered, in Preferences 1, the checkbox to "Write a detailed Bootup Log". It works as described and will ask for confirmation at next launch, telling you where it will put the file.
I call this a secret because I looked in the manual to see if it's mentioned, and there it is in a screenshot, but with nary a mention in the text, so a search won't find it. And since it doesn't create the log unless you tell it to, you normally see nothing, even using system tools (it should at least write a single line along the lines of "Logging disabled, turn it back on in Preferences 1".)
