Check out these Denise Reis clips. Here is another or her playing Miss Celie's Blues. Plays some nice chords also.

Later,
That's some awesome stuff, Danny ... the first one, I believe, is lips... not sure about the second one, though! LOL

Cheers,
Mike
On the first tune, it's all lips. There's even a simulated lips-based harmon mute solo at 1:20. For the rest, she's got that Herb Alpert slightly-flat thing down, although she almost gets the timbre of a cup mute as she starts Pink Panther. Very interesting.

On the Letterman track, it's all lips until the studio trumpeter joins her at the one minute mark. She's got a nice Louis style vibrato here.

Thanks for sharing this, Danny. She's very talented.
Everything old is new again.

Cool stuff.

Thanks for sharing Mac. Heck I can get through a gig without getting a Mills Brothers request, mainly Lazy River and Cab Driver.

Later,
I occasionally make sounds like that - but coming from another place. !!!

It does surprise you at first when you don't realize she is making the trumpet sound vocally.
Wow!!! Speechless!
