Although born blind, Hayley has recently been nominated Best Country Female Vocalist in Britain by BCMA.

This track features famed guitarist Albert Lee on guitar and keys.

Posted for promotional purposes with Hayley's consent.

My gracious, what a voice. She is very deserving of Best Country Female Vocalist in Britain by BCMA.

She'd fit right in with us blokes across the pond....
There are probably more than a few awards she'd be deserving of over here too.

Thanks for posting Donny.

Charlie,

Christmas Eve, a year ago, she was badly shaken in a fender bender so we just chatted until wee hours. I'm her cyber dad.

Her irises failed to develop in the womb causing her to be born blind. At age 11, she brought the house down at Royal Albert Hall in London singing Buddy Holly's "Raining In My Heart". If you want your heart ripped out, just listen to her sing "What Colour Is The Wind?"

Donny

"What Colour Is The Wind?" - Hayley Oliver

Warning: It's a 2 hankie song!

She has been nominated 4 times but someone pointed out that there has NEVER been a blind female winner. Sad.

Actually, she visited Nashville last Summer but I fear that she's poorly managed. I asked Isla Grant to consider taking her on tour. We'll see what develops.

Donny, Hayley singing "What Colour Is The Wind" is simply beautiful song.

Hayley is a diamond waiting to be encased by the right ring. Like Secretariat only needing to be paired with the right jockey.

She needs to find the right song that so strongly showcases her that she can no longer be ignored.

Wishing her the best of luck this go at the awards.

Charlie

Charlie,

I agree 100% on her lack of good management, in fact, a former band member (her guitarist) had been managing her. Although a great guitarist, he was definitely not well plugged in to the music business. He uploaded stuff to YT that grossly failed to help her. Mostly outdoor, live videos that actually hurt her more than help.

Hayley has a juvenile voice that is very soothing to listen to. In fact, I'm listening to her "Abinger Grove" album as I type. I loved her cover of "I'm A Little Bluer Than That". She aced Irene's original. Unfortunately, her manager took it down.

Hayley is 42 which, unfortunately, is often a deciding factor in awards. She's competing with young artists who've had everything lifted and, like it or not, that makes her imperfect in some eyes (not mine).

My sincere hope is that Isla Grant(qv) will take her under her wing and guide her through the minefield called success. Isla asked me to help organize her (Isla's) first US tour and she loves Hayley's music. Isla threatens to surprise Hayley and just stroll in to the "Dancing Dog" in Kent where Hayley is booked solid.

If there is anything you can do to help, I'd sincerely appreciate it.

Donny

PS: Isla Grant has 11 Gold and 3 Platinum albums. She was working on a joint tour with Merle Haggard when Merle died suddenly. Isla did a one-nighter in Cincinnati where John Denver says folks got up early to "watch the buns rise." lol

Charlie,

Would you believe - she balked at posting it saying it "was only a live recording!"

If you haven't noticed, just let it go and it it will play her entire playlist of 35 songs.

Donny

I suggested Josie's promoter. Waiting for her reply, she has gigs on most weekends.

Joe,

I just posted a link to Hayley's "Bluer Than That". Squint your good ear at it then tell me your professional opinion.

I think she beats Irene (the writer's) version.

Charlie

Charlie,

Abinger Grove is her 4th album and features famed Albert Lee on guitar and keyboards. All are available on iTunes and Amazon, etc.

Incidentally, Abinger Grove is the location of her studio.
