Every so often I see this type of situation, where two or more songs in the showcase have names that just strike me as funny.

This morning I woke up to see "I Can't Do This No More" followed by "You Didn't Give Up On Me."

It just struck me as funny. It happens more than I would have thought it would.

I know what you mean!

It's the word equivalent of the Rorschach test.

It's pretty interesting how the brain likes to find patterns that makes sense of what it encounters. I think that that's THE something that great lyricists and poets tap into.

Two Points:

1. Looking at lists is a great way to develop song themes and ideas
Review the alphabetical list of programs from SC PBS provides song title or idea
Austin City Limits
Barefoot with Makela
Back Street Pass
Fringe Benefits
On thin ice
Playing by the rules
The making of a lady
This old house
Two for the road
without perfect answers

2. There is a mental phenomenon that pairing three random words instantly creates an image in the mind that tells a story. Try it....

girl
tree
river

I don't believe that writers block actually exists...
