IK Multimedia has a number of their products on sale for $49 through May 31, down from the regular $149:

  • AmpliTube 4
  • T-RackS 5
  • Miroslav 2 CE
  • SampleTank 4 SE
  • Lurssen Mastering Console

A number of people on this forum use the Lurssen Mastering Console and have good things to say about it.

It's been on my "To Buy" list for some time, but since I'm happy with the mastering chain that I've got, it's been at the bottom of that list.

But for $49, it looks like I'm finally going to pull the lever for this. smile

Hi David,

Thanks for passing this information on. As a result, I've just purchased Miroslav Classic Edition.

Really appreciate the heads up,
Noel

Hope it works well for you!

I've got the older versions of Miroslav, but IK doesn't allow de-authorization, so if I want to use it on my current computer, I'll apparently have to pay $20 for a transfer license.

On the bright side, I ended up getting the Lurssen Mastering Console, so all I need to do now is start writing some songs again... blush

This doesn't really make sense to me, David. All my IK libraries allow multiple installations, and I've even see the install count reset occasionally. I even asked them one time to reset my count, and they did.

For example, when I look at my account, I see Miroslav Philharmonik (version 1; I haven't yet upgraded to v2) that is installed on three different computers, and it says I have 9 authorizations left.

OK... Because of your comment I finally worked this out.

The authorization from the Miroslave (version 1) is broken (the web link it tries to use doesn't exist), and attempting to authorize from the web didn't work.

But since I installed the the Lurssen Mastering Console I installed last night using the IK Authorizer, I tried using that instead.

Success!

So thanks! smile

Now I just need to re-install all the instruments, because the GUI is coming up blank...

Ah, another wrinkle. I'd assumed that I could just download the sounds again (my old machine's drive crashed hard), but no... Clicking the "Miroslav Sounds" button on the web brings up the message:

No Download Reactivation Credit has been purchased. In order to reactivate, please click the 'Buy Now' button above to visit our webstore to purchase.

So they know that I've got a licensed copy, and they'll let me re-download and install the program. But I need to spend $10 to re-activate the sounds download. I guess that's not an unreasonable fee, but still... frown

Ironically, I held on to the install DVD for years, and I think I finally tossed it out last week on the assumption that I could download the sounds again.

Oh, well. Live and learn.

if you didn't DELETE or UNINSTALL Miro. Phil 1 from your PC the library of sounds is still there on your PC -you just need to re-point Miro. to them.

Yes you needed the new authorization manager (that's what Luressen installed an updated one) because their web site links changed for authorization to your account of "stuff"

I keep all my sounds downloaded to an external USB, which allows me to reinstall whenever I need to. That 2TB USB is backed up to another 2TB drive. In fact, all my programs and libraries are stored there, so for reinstallation of any program or sound library, I don't have to mess with DVDs anymore.

I lost them in a hard drive crash, so they're gone for good. I didn't bother to reinstall them because I'd upgraded Notion, so it wouldn't talk to the 32 bit application anymore. And I have other orchestral libraries, so I just used those instead.

$10 really isn't too bad to get the full library back, I just wish I hadn't tossed out the original DVD last week. blush

Gotca - and you're right a tenner is not a bad cost and your tale will remind folks to KEEP ORIGINALS or backups (FOREVER).
