A movie has been made - actually a documentary - about Tommy Emmanuel, and it's going to be released over the next week.

I heard an interview with the producer or director, and he told of some stories that are included in the doco. This one made me chuckle: Tommy was always a great fan of Chet Atkins, and as a young boy, he decided to write to him.
He addressed the letter "Mr Chet Atkins, Nashville, America"
It found him, and the great man replied to Tommy,starting a long term friendship.

Keep your eye out for the movie - it called "Endless Road", and I understand it opens in the UK this coming weekend, and here in Oz early next week. Knowing Tommy's popularity in North America I'm sure it will be released there too.

Many years ago I met Chet when he came into a venue I was gigging at. He was approachable, very nice, and we had a nice fairly long chat. He was a real gentleman who didn't seem to let the fame go to his head.
