anyone have one of these, just looking for a wee bit of input of how this fits in a home studio i.e. using in Biab or daw etc.
Been offered one for a decent price.
Thanks
Hi
Yes I have known some that use this in conjunction with a Midi piano as it gives you a good set of Roland midi voices, and styles.
Can also be used with just a controller keyboard so you finish up with an Arranger keyboard.
Easy to set up as well, some nice styles and intros on there, many sound like the hit version although they use cryptic names .
Menu takes a bit of getting used to and saving performance sets as Roland calls, what Yamaha call registrations, but you get used to it.
If the price is right cant go wrong even if you only use it as a midi sound module for Biab.
Have fun
Mike
Mike thanks that is what I was looking for, also maybe someone who is using it in biab ,could let me know that the higher banks are attainable using the ins file from roland website ..that kind of thing would be great to hear before buying.
Beatmaster,
BK7 is a solid machine... But it is a mAcHine and a bit clunky one too.
As Mike above mentioned, "Menu takes a bit of getting used to"
I had it for two days, then it went back to the store... I do not usually return items in such manner. Please do not get me wrong, it is a neat piece of gear if you can get it at low price.
I do prefer vArranger for this arranging functions and Halion or a tuned SF2 sound bank for tones. More flexible.
HI
If it is a normal cakewalk ins file biab will convert it to a pat for you.
All ins files tried by me have worked like a dream.

I have been thinking that way as well, I do have halion se lite version and I'm impressed , so was thinking on the full version.
Or upgrading my sampletank 3 to 4 , But I do like to see something for my money sitting on my desktop, makes sense what you say about easier flexibility.
Thanks for your input and congrats on your new arrival.
Hi Mike
Yea it is a cakewalk file.
