There are mixed reviews. Harrison MixBus is based on Ardour (which I have, and find somewhat difficult to use). I haven't tried Ardour, however.

Here are a couple of links that may help. One issue mentioned is that it is only free if you compile it yourself. Otherwise, you have to pay for it.

I tinkered with it on a Linux system I had a few years back it was okay but nothing I would rely on

I played around with Ardour a few years ago on Linux, too.

It looked very comprehensive. Some aspects were confusing for me but, to be fair,that's true of all DAWs. At the end of the day, it's just a matter of sitting down with one and learning to drive it.

In the end I decided on Reaper because I like all the tutorial videos that Kenny Gioia puts together.

Intinkered with it as I said above, but at the time I installed it on an old laptop with Linux OS. I had issues setting up the interface and it was a ton of work. Now you can use it on Windows and Mac.
