Releasing music through LANDR.COM - 01/24/20 11:19 AM
This is an update on the problem I have been experiencing with delays in releasing my music through LANDR.COM over the last few months.
It may be of interest to other BIAB users who include Realtracks in songs that they offer for streaming and download on websites such as Amazon Music, iTunes, Deezer, Tidal, Google Play, Spotify, etc.
I have released ten songs in the last 12 months through LANDR, but on each occasion there has been a delay when they have previewed the song pending release.
They send me an email which advises that they have detected that samples have been detected which may include copyrighted material, and requesting confirmation that I have permission from the copyright owner to use them.
Please note that they are not actually refusing to release my songs, and the email states that confirmation is only required for my own protection to prevent any potential problems following the release.
On each occasion, I reply to the email advising them that the songs include BIAB Realtracks which are royalty free and that I do not require PG Music's permission in order to use them. I also cut and paste the following link from PG Music's Sales FAQ:
https://www.pgmusic.com/salesfaq1.htm#22
This is always satisfactory to them and they immediately respond advising me that the release can now go ahead, but the problem is that it delays the release by approx. a week on each occasion.
As a result of the inconvenience this process has caused me, I do not intend to renew my 12 month subscription with LANDR.COM when it expires shortly, and I am strongly recommending that BIAB users don't use LANDR either.
Incidentally, I requested my latest song to be released 4 days ago (ie. https://soundcloud.com/andyshearer-1/one-last-kiss), and promptly received the all too familiar email from the LANDR Rescue Team. I replied immediately and I expect the release to go ahead sometime early next week.
