I met Nokie in Seattle in '69 upon getting out of the Army. He was playing in my wife's cousin's band. He was already known for his work with the Ventures.

I met Nokie back in the mid 90's at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society convention in Nashville. He was an extremely nice man who had time for anyone that wanted to talk, play or learn with him. I looked forward to seeing him every year as I went back several times.

I still hear from his wife Judy occasionally. She has a booking agency in Nashville.
