This is not a sustainable model, and no one would become a songwriter based on this level of pay.
Friendly reminder that albums purchased on BandCamp send 85-90% of the money to the artist/label, and in addition to MP3 and FLAC downloads they offer the ability to stream songs you've purchased. Compare that to the 10% or less that streaming-only services want to pay the artists.

One artist mentioned they received "$4,200 from nearly 700 buyers [on Bandcamp] in just two days" while also saying “We might make $100 a year from streaming. On a recent statement of mine, the royalties for one track that had 580 plays on Spotify was zero dollars and 20 cents.”

My personal choice for consuming music is to buy an album a month (at least). This costs the same as paying for any streaming-only service while also helping to ensure the artists get paid properly.
