There has not been a good Jazz orchestra VI, that I am aware of, in a good number of years. This is a demo from a project in the works. I am keeping my eye on it. I love this sound! I am betting I am not alone on this one. grin

I’m using SWAM instruments by audiomodeling, after a long search in which Mario helped.

Info on this Diamond Jazz Orchestra product was hard to find, except for ‘coming soon’. Sure, it will be fun to check it out when there is more info. Thanks.

I once had the garritan jazz and big band - but this goes back amost a decade or more and I lost it on a computer change. However, the new releases of the bigfish products, I totally missed. I really need to get out more. Thanks.

The idea behind Garritan was to keep CPU load low. For solo voices that meant low quality sampling, but a good ensemble sound, nevertheless. It’s dated…

Big Fish takes a different appraoch, now that processors and Ram have improved so much. Sounds impressive to my ears!

Nothing beats audiomodeling for solos, trumpets and saxophone, I think. With a keyboard or EWI, these can’t be beaten. Expensive stuff, though.

I’d love to own it all, but then my wallet says No!

I hear ya. I have the trumpet and saxes and they are the best sounding solo instruments. However you can stack them and make your own big band.

I'd like to have more also but my wallet is just like yours!

Here are some things to check out:

Project SAM Swing! and Swing More!:
https://projectsam.com/libraries/swing/
https://projectsam.com/libraries/swing-more/
BTW: They have a free Kontakt Player Orchestral library:
https://projectsam.com/libraries/the-free-orchestra/ )

8DIO: The Bible of Pop, Latin & Salsa: Volumes One, Two and Three (bundle available). Currently everything at 8DIO is 60% off:

https://8dio.com/instrument/the-bible-of-latin-and-salsa-volume-two/
https://8dio.com/instrument/the-bible-of-latin-and-salsa-volume-three/
https://8dio.com/instrument/the-bible-of-salsa-bundle/
The Studio Series Fire brass/reed instruments (trumpet, trombone, sax) are direct subsets of Volume Three instruments and can be offered to you as additional individual downloads if you have purchased Volume three.

MarioD mentioned Big Fish Audio and I'd like to add Funk Soul Horns (no longer Kontakt KLI; now Momentum), Latin Jazz 2, and Arranged By Greg Adams (Greg Adam's Classic Horn Section):

Sonokinetic has Noir and Ostinado Noir:

There are a few more jazz band and combo libraries (either designed combo patches or easily multied) that come to mind:

Fable Sound's Broadway series (Big Band, Lites and Gig):
https://fablesounds.com/broadway-big-band/
https://fablesounds.com/broadway-lites/
https://fablesounds.com/broadway-gig/

Insanity Samples has New Orleans Brass and The Cool Jazz Collection:

Think Miles Davis Kind Of Blue for this one:
https://insanitysamples.com/collections/frontpage/products/the-cool-jazz-collection

This developer is specializing in jazz instruments/libraries for Kontakt:

Don't forget that in Komplete you have Session Horns and in Komplete Ultimate and CE you have Session Horns Pro:
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/cinematic/session-horns/
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/cinematic/session-horns-pro/

. . . and, here's a fur-lined rabbit hole:

There's more but I have to stop. My brain is starting to hurt.
