Hello, forum friends

After a little blank, this is my first post of this year.
This song is written in 80’s fusion style.
It's a pop ballad with a bit of jazz feel.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Summary of lyrics:

There are a bright sun and a sea breeze,
Children are having fun on the beach
I put my feet in the shallows of the sea
Waves, please take me away somewhere along with my sighs and tears

I wonder if you are already looking for me
I left home in silence
I feel so lonely
But it's not because I'm alone

The cigarette butt by the bedside has a red rouge color
I'm not an adult enough who can pretend not to sense what happened
And I can't laugh it off

You are very optimistic about it
Maybe you are making light of me
The more a man hides it, the more a woman smells it out
Don't take it lightly

Now I realize again how I love you
Oh, what a miserable face is mirrored in the window glass
It's like a cat that licked the salt water

I don't want to hear your excuses
My heart keeps hurt
Please keep thinking of me at another place
I won't be home for a while
Hello Shigeki,

Great to have you back and Happy 2023!

I missed you and your song styles!

This is a refreshing and wonderfully happy song! Love the well crafted arrangement.

Can't wait for more.
Hi, Shigeki. Within the first 4 measures I said, "This could make a good, highly paid theme for a TV show." By the time Natsuki started singing I said, "No, this MUST be for a big-time movie." Before it ended I thought a movie should be made FROM this wonderful song. Man, you are so good at scoring those strings, and laying them in a professional-sounding mix. Please thank Yvonne for helping us understand what this entertaining movie is all about, although you always manage to put the meaning in the music so masterfully.
Hi Natsuki and Shigeki
The song sounds wonderful
You have created an excellent background track
And also Natsuki's vocals fit perfectly
Your musical skills are really impressive
Many greetings
Andi ;-)
Man, I've missed the full, big sound you can put into a melody. Welcome back, and this is great!

Brad
Shigeki Adachi,
even if it's not my preferred music genre, it's really very well done, great arrangement, top production and it's really amazing what you do with the strings.
Very good job!
Love your productions Shigeki. Super wide sound. Vocal was excellent. The orchestra was awesome. Well done
I love the music you do! This sounds great - especially the strings.

I'd have liked a bit more attack on the trumpet solo at the end, where it sounded just a bit synthetic. But everything else sounded awesome!

Very nice! laugh

I am really glad you like this tune, Natsuki's vocal and my arrangement.
And I much appreciate your comments on comparing this song to a movie.
Let me confess.
Among the French films I saw a long time ago, there was a movie called "Le Parfum d'Yvonne" directed by Patrice Leconte.
I got a hint from the title of the movie and came up with the title of this song.
I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

Best regards.

Burt died today & then I click on a song that uses smart, crisp jazzy pop full of nuance and a delightful melody.
The only Thing that doesn't hold that spell is the guitar solo.
Lovely stuff.
Shigeki Adachi,

Beautiful!

The strings are Gorgeous! Excellent movement.

The vocals by Natsuki are a delight.

Good arrangement. Cool guitar.

Excellent mix.

This has the feel/sound of a Hal David/Burt Bacharach classic...

David (Cuny),

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am really glad you like this tune and my strings.
I am very grateful to you for always analyzing my songs in detail.
I understand your point out about the solo trumpet.
Please forgive me to give you a little excuse, it's still quite difficult to give a trumpet an attack while keeping its tone soft.
I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

rayc,

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am really glad you like this tune.

Burt Bacharach is one of my favorite composers.
When I was young, I listened to all of his songs and learned how to develop chord progressions and melodies.

I also really like his work "Bells of St. Augustine" written when he was 92 years old.

Always pleasure to listen to your smooth, melancholy pop songs with an excellent, skillful arrangement. Besides the super sounding strings, there is also very nice addition of trumpet/trombones. Very well mixed, I really like how the bass plays and sounds. I do like also the solo guitar, very good selection. And top of all that, the talented lady sings beautifully.

Janne
Shigeki,

You always do such great work putting a tune together . . . this is no exception . . . a wonderful production with a great vocal, which as always makes me wish I could understand the lyrics in their natural language (though the translation is helpful). Lovely to listen to. The strings are excellent—no surprise there—and I liked the solo a lot as well. Terrific tune!

All my best to you,

Tune - excellent

Lovely tune, beautiful arrangement, and excellent vocal.

The strings are superb, and the song does have a Bacharach feel.

Professional in all respects.

Shigeki,
You captured the vibe of period very well. Strong composition skills. Natsuki has a beautiful voice. Clear mix and listens well.
Thank you for sharing.

Misha.
Pro all the way.
Enjoyed this much, great job!
While everything you produce is outstanding, one of the most impressive part of the content is the strings arrangements. They are always brilliant, never too much out front, never too far away, always melodic. This song exemplifies that once again.
