Haven't been on the forum much this spring. Got the golf bug and the music kind of got pushed back.

Recently got hit with a golf ball. Line drive to the back of my picking hand. Broke a bone so done for a couple of more months with the music creation. Typing with one hand is a bit of a chore as well..

Robert and I have also taken a bit of hiatus and should be back in the fall as Spirit Level. We have a couple of a songs that are close to fully cooked.

I ran this one through the final mastering process and thought it maybe ready to go.

Two tracks one slide playing back to the main melody.

Hope you like it.

Hi, Scott.

I like it!

It sounds like a lazy paean to summer. smile

Very melodic, with a touch of David Gilmour.

It could almost be "Hawai'ian".
Perhaps it's he heat up your way.
A breezy tone and pretty good mix though the slide doesn't seem to quite sit.

Hi Scott ...

Always love your music. I like the smooth, take-it-easy vibe of this one - very relaxing. Sorry to hear about the golf outing gone bad. Sounds painful! Hope it's healed soon.

My very first "real" guitar (1963) was a Gretsch Tennesseean. My father surprised me with it. June 6th, 1963. Two months later, I made my first dollar- ever - playing guitar. My father and I weren't very close, but he changed my life, for the good, forever with that guitar. he died 6 years later in 1969.

Take care ...

Alan

Man, I love your playing, Scott. So full of life and emotion. Hope those hands hit a golf ball as well as the frets. Since it hit your pick hand, I bet you'd be good at a whole song of hammer-ons. Mend well and mend fast.

Hi Scott.
Golf will ruin your life. Stick to music.
Nice tune.

We enjoyed the mellow vibe of your phrasing and tone.

Nice backing tracks and mix also.

Very relaxing and cinematic!

PS: Sorry to hear about your hand Scott. Bud broke his once and it definitely stopped mountain biking and bass/guitar playing for a while. Heal quickly!

Really smooth, mellow and beautiful Scott.

Is that a picture of your Gretsch?

Ahhhh, relaxing on a beach with the gentle rolling of the waves. Nicely done.

I hope your hand is healing well.

Scott,
Ouch! That must of hurt. Hopefully you'll recover fast. I play mini golf with my kids from time to time. A far more safe "sport" smile

While scrolling, I stumbled on Ray's comment. Yeah, it sounds a bit "Hawai'ian" I would even say Hawaiian Reggae. Smooth playing and good mix. Fun listen and thank you for sharing.

Misha.

From the first notes this says Aloha! and directs me to sunshine somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Great playing, beautiful melody and interesting chording. The band supports perfectly the lead guitar, very pleasant mix. I'm glad that golf playing hasn't affected the high quality of your tunes smile

First I'm pray your hand heals quickly.
This is an outstanding instrumental.
Great chops, and mix.
This sounds like something Santo and Johnny would record.

Loved it.

Lol Vic. Thanks Vic. I heed your advice but I have been smitten with the golf addiction. I am however looking through the storage room for some old hockey goalie equipment I will be wearing on the first couple of outings I do when my hand heals. thanks for checking out the song. Glad you liked it..

Thanks Bud and Janice for checking out the song. Also thanks for the kind words here and on my Facebook page. They were well received as I did not know at the time if I had nerve damage. All is good tho and I am playing a little. Looking forward to getting this splint of and back to playing properly again.

Thanks David for checking out the song and glad you liked it. Yes this is guitar is one of my favorites. It is a Gretsch Duojet 6128. Awesome to play. I also have a white Gretsch Penguin which is also a Duojet style with a bit more bling and single coil Dyasonic pickups. Very cool tone. Very different sound from the Black one..

Hey Scott...really pleasant tune...well named with that gentle beat and slide it does give a Hawaiian flavor...your playing is flawless (of coarse) and the tones are perfect...it's a little different fare for you and really shows your diversity and eclectic tastes...I really enjoyed it...man I hope your hand heals well and quickly...it must be frustrating to be limited...but I suppose if you had to choose the picking hand is better than the chording hand?? best wishes on a speedy recovery!

Scott,

The title fits this well! It's got the laid-back summer feel to it!
All those little guitar licks especially the slide sounds are really effective!

Thanks, TB
