No Name

I have decided to not give this song a title and to not have a song description. I will let the listener choose his or her own title and description.

The start of this song is a little unusual as I was messing around in EZKeys2 and come up with a song that I liked. I transferred the song to both my DAW and BiaB. I picked a BiaB style I liked and the rest is history.

BiaB style - Cloudy New Age Piano
Tempo - 91 BPM
I deleted the bass and string tracks.
Piano - Kontakt - preset - Pure Jazz Vibes
Guitar - SynthMaster One - preset - pad - Galaxy
Utililty - Modified to better fit the song - Kontakt - Kirt Hunter Virtuoso strings and Solid State Orchestra strings and Amadeus Full String Ensemble.
Drums - various Steven Slate's SSD5 drum kits
EZKeys2 track - Lounge Lizard - preset - Tine Bases 13 Model V

Via my breath and keyboard controllers I am playing the oboe track, I copied and modified the oboe track for the string lead and French horn leads. Band-in-a-Box is playing the backing tracks.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Mario,

Nice work on the controllers. Cool oboe...
A flowing melody. Easy on the ears.

Description: Meditative. Relaxing. Engaging.
Title: The Rest Is History

Lovely.

Epic and relaxing ... if those aren't contradictory. Big sound!

Great performances, arrangement, backing tracks and mix.

We never cease to be amazed by the controller and the oboe is a treat.

Enjoyed it,

I agree with Janice and Bud, great arrangement, sounds like a professional sound track, and is soothing.

A potential title for this could "Tracking Sound" and as it sounds like soundtrack material. I really like the oboe sound, but I'd liked to have heard more of it in this,

Mario, wow, this is truly majestic! The oboe sounds great, but I'm really blown away by the flow of the arrangement and mix. Could be a movie soundtrack for sure. Another nice one!

Man, I was going to say truly majestic, but I see Ron beat me to it eek

Excellent track, Mario, love the way it builds. Oboe is great!

The lyrics (sung with a melody written by a band named after an insignificant continent west of Europe) go like this:

On the first part of the journey
I was looking for a name
But everything I could think of
Sounded bad and really lame.

You're welcome, Mario smile

As always, I like the laid-back soundscape you create, it's very relaxing for me.
The drums take that away in places, but I don't know if a chillout sound was what you were going for.

Thanx Floyd. I believe I am becoming more confident with the breath and keyboard controllers. Time will tell.

Thanx Janice and Bud. I am trying to improve on my breath and keyboard controller combination. Hopefully I will get better.

Thanx so much, especially for that suggestion. I will keep that in mind for my next song(s).

Thanx Brian! Cool lyrics but I think I may have heard them before, maybe when I was in an oasis in the Sahara Desert! I'm glad that you liked it.

Mario,

It's a beautiful song.
It's a very relaxing sound.
The tones of each selected instrument are very nice.
Since you are using a wind controller, the oboe sounds very natural.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Mario,

The soundscape of your songs is always full and rich with a lead track that perfectly allies with it. You have mastered that wind controller - you can make it sound like almost anything.

This is beautiful and sonically dynamic. A true pleasure to my ears.

Best to you,

Alan

Bravo Mario for mixing the instruments. There is a very elegant classic side.

Mario,

You compose some of the most beautiful music... Every track feels like an epic story. This is no exception. Just wonderful.

Thanx so much Shigeki. I'm glad you noticed that the oboe sounded natural. I worked hard on that so I appreciated the fact that you noticed it.

Thanx so much Alan for listening, commenting, and especially that mastering of the wind controller comment. I haven't mastered it yet but I am having a ton of fun trying!

Hi MarioD,

Nice ambient music, full of sweetness. The orchestration is attractive and increasingly worked. The whole thing is very catchy. Well done. I enjoyed it..

Well Mario, some things do not need a name to be great, and this is one of them. Just beautiful!

Cheers

I imagine a fully rigged 19c frigate at full speed.
I would maybe call it "Man O' War.
Very well done, Mario.

Mario,

This is absolutely beautiful.
So very very peaceful and engaging.
I do have another suggestion for the title that kind of came to me in a dream state while I was thinking about the song.
Man if I were you I would call it A Horse with No Name.
If you did that, I think you would have enormous commercial possibilities, and all the beautiful young ladies in their bell bottom pants would be dropping that needle on the 45 relentlessly and you would be a superstar.
Just a thought.

Thanx David.
Enormous commercial success is no longer my dream.
What is a 45? A pistol?
I did marry the most beautiful young lady in bell bottoms 57 years ago!
Plus if I was in a desert I think I would have enough time to name a horse!

The oboe is hauntingly beautiful. The song is tranquil and cascading.

Hi, Mario.

Pleasant listen - easy on the ears and flows along like a lazy river.
