Hi All,

Here's a new little song called APRIL SHOWERS.

I’m getting ready
To say goodbye to snow
I’m getting ready
I thought you ought to know
The sun is shining
A little more today
It’s getting close
If only you would stay

Gone are the shadows
Across the bedroom door
Gone are the footsteps
Bare feet on the floor
Gone are the nights
The minutes and the hours
So gone baby gone
So gone baby gone
Gone like April showers

I’m opening windows
To let the breeze come in
I’m opening windows
I need to dream again
The time is coming
A journey day by day
It’s an open road
If you must drive away

Gone are the shadows
Across the bedroom door
Gone are the footsteps
Bare feet on the floor
Gone are the nights
The minutes and the hours
So gone baby gone
So gone baby gone
Gone like April showers

So gone baby gone
Gone baby gone
Gone like April showers

Gone are the shadows
Across the bedroom door
Gone are the footsteps
Bare feet on the floor
Gone are the nights
The minutes and the hours
So gone baby gone
So gone baby gone
Gone like April showers

Oh, I've been looking for a new Bob Dean the song-writing machine's new one. Yep, this one is like discovering a gold mine without the burden of the gold. Man, I like how everything appropriately supports the lyrics and vocal, which are the brightest part of the gold. Interesting choice of backing band, and they all work so well.

Bob,

Excellent use of BIAB.
Terrific production. Simple, modern, imaginative.
Original.

Cool album cover, as always...

Bob,
Cool contemporary minimalistic folk tune. Excellent lyrics. Vocals are clear and treatment is interesting, but in a few places FX overpowers them. Thank you for sharing.
Misha.

Misha nailed the description: “Cool contemporary minimalistic folk tune.”
We run across quite a few Spotify playlists that focus on contemporary folk or folk rock and this would be a perfect fit.

“I’m getting ready
To say goodbye to snow
I’m getting ready
I thought you ought to know
The sun is shining
A little more today
It’s getting close
If only you would stay”

What an engaging lyric intro … one that grabbed us from the get go.
Great choice of BiaB session folks and a sparkling open mix.

Enjoyed it!

I always like this intimate and fragile side. Personally I prefer your natural voice but you have to respect the creator's choice. It's very poetic.

Bob, ultra cool tune. Love the arrangement and the use of the hip hop synth to underpin the track. Great write and vocals. Especially liked the (doubled?) vocals near the end. Super job!

Hey cool man!

Definitely some cool experimental stuff going on here as others have said.

I dig it.

Bob, a perfect example of how less is more can make a song.
Super vocal, however some of the harmony FX I thought made it hard to hear the lyrics, but that is just my opinion and it didn't detract to much from this song.
Great mix.
Great work.

Hi Bob,

Yes, i can agree with all above my post. A good song!
Minimalistic, but effective. And so nice lyrics.
Your voice is vulnerable and sensitive. And therefore intriguing!
Btw: I hope the showers will leave here too, soon...

Cool song, sounds modern but is still 100% Bob Dean.

I'm not a fan of Autotune™ as a vocal effect, but that's just a personal preference.
Good production, and the sparse arrangement works very well.
Very good!

I'm ready to say goodbye to snow, so this is very timely song. Poetic and visual. Minimalistic instrumentation fits perfectly, snaps sound like raindrops on the floor or the second hand moving slowly in the night. Vibrating vocal adds melancholy.

Mario,

Thanks so much. Agree, I was on the fence with the FX.

Brian,

Thanks. The FX is actually Waves Harmony. Sometimes it sounds great, but I find it to be artificial sounding overall.

Loved the intro Bob. Loved the tone of the synth. Reminded me of a very smooth Rhodes Piano. Cool vocal and lyric. Well done
