It has always been a goal of mine to get good enough on the piano so I could play real Jazz Comping piano parts as well as melodies with it. The Jazz tune “What Now” is my first successful attempt (at least in my view) at “getting there”.

I used the Garritan Authorized Steinway Model D as well as generated lots of solo variations for the Alto Sax and then combined them in Sonar for the 4 bar solo trading.

Fantastic song and mix !! Those Real Tracks are great to work with. I enjoyed the comping as well, tasty.

Hi Jim

No doubt in my mind that your are more than "getting there" as you say. Liked your playing. Very relaxed and laid back. Just the right dosage. As you said, you also want to practice your comping, but hope one time you can put a song with no computer sax and more of you improvising...

Pierre, thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I am working on a few things, and when I am done I will post them ... of more piano etc.
