Believe
Music & Lyrics copyright Stephen W. Young

Somewhere in the middle
Of a broken life
There's a light to remind you
It's gonna be alright
When your whole world is spinning round
Plant your feet on solid ground
And believe

I believe in the goodness
Of a little child
And I believe in the sweetness
Of a little girl's smile
And I believe that anything is possible
With a loving God
And a heart that's full
When your whole world is spinning round
Just plant your feet on solid ground
And believe

When my whole world is spinning round
I plant my feet on solid ground
And I believe
I believe

Have a great day!

Lovely song. Great arrangement of the BIAB sounds. Forgot they were realtracks for a moment.

Great harmony and like how the song builds.

I also thought it was cool you used the "believe" RTs to write a song called Believe.

Well done.

Hi Steve,

Everything you touch is so good! Your songwriting (music and lyrics) and your production, not to mention your vocals. I am envious of your talent. You mentioned you played violin, guitar and piano, too. How many instruments do you dabble with. Do you ever play out in public much now?

Thanks,
Rod M

Hi Josie,

Thanks so much! Believe it or not, I didn't really notice the connection of the Believe song with the Believe RealTracks, until after I posted the song, when I read the song memo. lol! I usually write most of my songs pretty much in my head (arrangement and all). I let it sort of roll around in my head (there's plenty of room up there) for usually a day or two. Then when I sit down to BIAB, I try to recreate what I hear in my head. Sometimes it comes out almost exactly like it, sometimes the song sort of morphs into the final product.

Thanks very much for your comments. Your comments are always welcome!

Hi Rod,

You are too kind! I think dabble is the right word. I've always been more of a writer/arranger than a virtuoso musician. In my younger years, I was a violinist (the instrument I studied in school) who played a little guitar, mandolin, bass, and banged around on a piano. Now I play more keyboards, and occasionally pick up a guitar or fiddle. I don't play much in public, though I would love to if asked.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the kind words. I wanted to respond your thread instead of the BIAB Christmas thread. I took your advise and just posted 1 song to work out so I didn't want my old thread to keep on well "threading". Sometimes playing out in public can be fun but with BIAB there is always a endless supply of bandmates! Anyway, you and yours have a great holiday season.
