Cozy nights and happy days
Comes the season of winter's ways
Mistletoe hanging by the tree
Wish that you were here with me

See the snowflakes on the ground
Watch them slowly drifting down
By the fireside chestnuts on the roast
But what I miss is you the most

Spare a thought for our young brave hearts
Overseas in those difficult parts
Spending time alone in the night
Thinking only will I be alright

Send your love and wish them well
One day soon they will return from hell
Leave the lights on so that they can see
The love from you and me

Instrumental

Send them love on this Christmas night
Come home safe and be alright
The time will be here soon enough
We made it through it was tough
Is it a karaoke? I couldn't hear anybody singing.
Hi sinbad,

Well - It works OK at my end.

Should hear me singing.

Best regards
George
George,

Very nice song for the season. I enjoyed this.

Bob
Hi George

It works now, I don't know how it came through without vocals the first time. Nice song, refreshing to hear a Christmas song without religious undertones.
Hi Bob,

Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment.

As you know - it is very much appreciated.

Best regards
George
Hi Chris,

Thanks for letting me know that you can hear the vocals now.
I was a little concerned that maybe I had uploaded the wrong version

Thank you again.

Best regards
George
Merry Christmas George.

I like the sound of this one and the presence of your voice - clear and uncluttered.
I think you have two very separate song ideas - one for lovers and one for soldiers.
Did you think of two separate songs initially?

Have you tried working much with harmony lately? IMO it would work well in the chorus. Maybe raise Brent's solo a bit.

This song has a nice peacefulness to it.
Cheers - Ian
Hi Ian,

A very happy Christmas to you too.

I will be adding to this song once I get Band in a Box 2012 up and running.

Harmonies may be added as your suggestion.

I was thinking of the snow falling outside when I was inside and nice and warm.
Then I saw a news item about war.
So the two thoughts just married together.

Best regards
George
