Hi all,

My neighbor wrote a book and I decided to see if I could write a song along the same lines as the book.
The book tells the story of a seal that meets and befriends a man. The story takes place around the island of Eynhallow (off the Orkney mainland)

Here it is: Eynhallow

Here are the lyrics
-------------------------------------------
On an Island out at sea
Far away from you and me
Solo the seal sings out his songs of grace

The music from the ocean deep
Way down where the mermaids sleep
Echoes the rhythm of the rolling sea

On the Island of Eynhallow
Solo the seal from his rocky place
Sings of love with true emotion
Sings of love from the seas embrace

Solo the seal swimming one day
Around the Island just to play
Met Tom the boatman a man from Rousay

They played and sang an old sea song
The mermaids chorus sang along
Till the evening light was nearly gone

On the Island of Eynhallow
Solo the seal from his rocky place
Sings of love with true emotion
Sings of love from the seas embrace

Instrumental

Solo the seal sang it's time to go
Back home where the currents flow
He said good night to his friend from Rousay

On the Island of Eynhallow
Solo the seal from his rocky place
Sings of love with true emotion
Sings of love from the seas embrace

Best regards
George

George, I like this song.
I think the bossa feel works really well with your tune.
Excellent choice of instruments.
Good use of the fiddle at the brake.
I especially like the melody at the chorus.

Hi Mario,

Yes it was difficult to put into a song a book about a seal.
When I got going, someone from above just seemed to fill in the melody and lyrics.
My musical skills are not the best, but I think if you have a passion for music, which I do, and keep trying then you will be rewarded.

As lots of people say Have Fun!!!

Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment, it is appreciated.

Best regards
George
