Hey guys,

I picked up a Yamaha WX5E midi wind controller about a month ago and decided to compose a tune using it.
It's sort of a smooth jazz tune.
I recorded both melodyA and melodyB into BIAb using the WX5E.
Tried recording the solos as well, but not good enough on the instrument yet so generated RT solos instead.
The tune is called Clouds In My Coffee.
It's in the key of E Minor.
The form is.
Intro, AABA, Solos, B, then B transposed up a half step then an 8 bar ending.
I hope you like it.

Thanks for that one! You had me sitting on the beach at Laguna, sipping a cold martini and watching the waves roll in. Cool jazz.

I sit and program all day long…( the Paying Job..lol) and while I do that I listen to this type of music on smoothjazz.com Very, Very Nice. You need to submit some of your work (this one ).. to smoothjazz.com and get streaming air play. It’s just a matter of submitting a marketing kit…

Had to have another listen to this one Tim, how the Yamaha playing coming along? Great Job!
Hey thanks man for giving this one another listen.
I'm practicing every day. BIAB is great for helping me do that.
I wish I'd had this program back in the day when I was a music student.

Hi Tim,

Wow! I think this is just wonderful.
I love smooth jazz.
I hope to hear more of your music.

Debra
Debra, thanks for listening and commenting.
Much appreciated.

Now this is artfully constructed indeed

I really like the ‘A’ chord sequence and the keys patch at 1:45

Would have liked something a bit more insistent in the perc. track (yes even the dreaded cowbell)
Personally, I don’t much like the oohs and aahs
Maybe the key change could be better exploited (say a little run to take it up to the lead note in the ‘B’ melody)
Also the ending is maybe a bit odd. It ends just when you think its taking off again!

So in answer to your question, Tim

Quote:

I hope you like it.

I most cetainly do. - had me reaching for my white suit!!

Marc
Hi Marc,

Thank you for listening and your constructive comments.

I agree it should have gone on longer. I kind of just ran out of steam with this one and ended it.

Tim
Great sound Tim, that song is very usable for a tv program backing. Recording is cyrstal clear too, must try and work thowards that goal.
