This quarter’s review topic for music over at Kara-Moon was harvest. Here is what I wrote for that forum:

“Well the Harvest is over and the farmers all got together for an informal jam session. Well these are not your ‘sit on the porch and play your geetars, fiddles, jugs, spoons and one string bass’ type farmers. These farmers are special.

Biab produced the backing tracks and I played the lead. I did this in one take. I know that there are a few clunkers in there but I did not want to ruin the live spontaneity I had going.”

The style I used was “cool Jazz Ballard (85 RS)” and it used the following:

481:bass, acoustic, jazz ballad sw 085
484:guitar, electric, rhythm jazz ballad sw 085
realdrums=jazzbrushesSticks

I hope you like it for the jam it is.

The music sounds like you had a good time jamming.
Backing sound very good, all of it.
Your playing fits nicely.

Isn't this type of playing the original style for Jazz..

What is best, is the easy listen layed back sounds you have
created.

Thanks for sharing you fun music...

I enjoyed listening. 'Clunkers' are no problem.

Mario,

I totally enjoyed this! I kept waiting for Tom Waits to start singing.... (can you arrange that?)

That is good for a first take! You could spend hours trying to improve it but it would never sound as good. Wish I knew farmers that could play like that!!!

Thanx Alyn, I have in the past polished a song into total dullness

Now days I will take the first take if there isn’t a ton of opps! First takes are almost always the freshest takes!

Mario, very pleasant groove, professional jamming and real good sound--esp on one take!

And thanks for mentioning kara-moon..I checked it out...great talents there, and enjoyed listening to some of your tunes while I was working here at my desk.

Thanks for posting.
