An adaption of Claude Debussy's Claire de Lune.
Couldn't find any Realtrack for the Solo part that really fit my wishes.
So I made the piano part, in the end doubled by trombone and synth by myself.
Used RealTracks:
RealDrums-JazzFunkGroovin^1-HHSdStk,HHSnr
RT1639_Piano,El,JzFunkBreezy Ev75
RT831_Piano,Ak,Solo,PopWaltz Sw85_0.WAV
Enjoy.

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed listening to your interpretation.
Excellent use of BIAB.

Thank you all for your nice comments.

I have replaced it by a new version. I left out the experiments with the time changes in the beginning to make it better consumable. It's a little shorter now.
And I had crackles in the bass. I could get rid of them by accepting the option "Inform plug-ins of offline rendering state" in the vst preferences of Reaper.
Last but not least I finally switched off the foot pedal in the piano in the second half which I had forgotten.

Very, very nice. I loved the doubled fretless bass. Pretty amazing, actually. I find the piece reminiscent of Chuck Mangione's treatment of "Ave Maria," which, if you enjoyed this, you might want to look up. (I checked youtube and didn't find it, alas.)

nice work, Guenter!

My only negative observation is more of a MIDI pet-peeve thing than it is a criticism of your work... one of the quirks about MIDI strings is the way a patch gets regenerated at chord changes.

When a MIDI patch is regenerated it creates an abrupt sound that simply would not be made by skilled musicians using good bowing technique. Some of the newer string sample libraries have intelligence built-in to continue the bowed sound at a new pitch without retriggering the patch, and it sounds more realistic. There are other tricks people use to smooth out the string transitions, but most of the workarounds end up sounding fake for other reasons.

But, none of that is your fault. What you did sounds great! I agree with all of the favorable comments above! Keep up the good work, and thanks for posting!

Hi Guenter,

I have to totally agree with Floyd when he said,

You're right, Pat.
Hollywood Strings by Soundsonline might do that. But it's my hobby and I haven't got nearly € 800 just for the strings.

I thought all entries here had to be originals?

Are 'out of copyright' allowed?

Are tradiitonal songs allowed?

Thanks.
