Well, here I go!! - This is a guitar Instrumental and is my first foray into what I hope is a C&W style. I'm a Brit and it's not my usual playing style or genre so if I've got it hopelessly wrong – then be gentle with me.
I'm using BIAB2013EverythingPak which has been a bit of a culture shock, having upgraded from BIAB2008!!!
Been a bit like a Kiddie in a Sweetie Shop!
Anyway - any hips and tints that you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

STYLE - _POPFAST
DRUMS – Nashville Even8^8, Hi-hat0, Ride
BASS – 519 – Bass, Electric,Pop half notes, EV 120
GUITAR – 522 – Guitar, acoustic, fingerpicking, EV120
GUITAR – 406 - Guitar, acoustic, strumming, EV136
GUITAR – 408 – Guitar, Resonator, Background, Allis EV120
PEDAL STEEL – 621 – Pedal Steel, Background, Easy EV136
PEDAL STEEL – 1669 – Pedal Steel, Soloist, CountryPaul, EV120
PEDAL STEEL – 612 – Pedal Steel,Background, Opry SW130
also included was 543 Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Dreamy EV120 but it didnt make it to the final Mix.

Ian,

That worked. It has a very cool sound overall. Almost a hybrid surf country tune... I liked it a lot. Good mix.

Hi Ian,

What an impressive debut into the Users' Showcase forum! I enjoyed it a great deal. There were moments in the mix that reminded me of The Shadows.

All the best,
Noel

Ian,

Gotta agree with Noel... wonderful! But I would have said.. The Ventures... Forget that other stuff.... keep going down this path!!! Quite enjoyable. Do your thing, man..

+1 Enjoyed it.

Very nice, smooth, very listenable.

"Country Surf," as was said. Now that global warming is official, we may be seeing surfing in Nashville.

Nice work Ian, very enjoyable and well put together.
With a style like that I thought you were Ian McCutcheon!
I'm in Leamington, where abouts are you?

No Skyline, I'm 'another'Ian! Lol
I am a Warwick Club member though - are you?
I'm in Wolverhampton.
Glad you liked the Arrangement.
The Warwick 'house' band "Shazam" don't know it yet but I'm going to ask them to learn it and play it with me in March!
Cheers

Enjoyed the tune. Reminded me of Duane Eddy and the Ventures if they went Nashville.

Very impressive first song!

Great chops man.

This reminded me of the Shadows.

Two thumbs up!

Thanks for listening and the comments.
I guess my "Shadows" background is obvious then? In the UK, I'm a Hank Marvin and The Shadows "tribute" performer.
I was brought up on Duane Eddy, The Ventures and The Shadows and I guess it sticks.
But maybe I've just set a new style - Country Surf - I like that idea, Brad.
My all-time favourite guitar player is Chet Atkins, God Bless him, although I could never be able to play like he does.

I don't know whom it reminds me of, but almost envision a modern western movie background track. Only thing missing is a whip snap!Very well put together.

Hi cubanpete
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wanted the "whip-crack" but Beloved just wouldn't stay still long enough for me to record it!!
Just kidding, Darling!

Love the instrumentals. Keep them coming! Only thing missing in Tomahawk is a twangy, vibrato bar chord ending!
Posted By: sixchannel Re: TOMAHAWK - 03/03/13 12:21 PM
Hello Jim
thanks for listening.
Yes - a whammy bar whang would have been a great ending!
Glad you enjoyed it.
cheers
