When I saw your new contribution I was
looking forward to listening.
It's a masterpiece again.
And again I like your harmonies very much.
I can't tell if they are Biabettes or real.
The lyrics are very uplifting.

Great song, lyric, arrangement, the whole thing
I really enjoyed it.
I am impressed with how you got BIAB to do such a good job weaving in the guitars and breaks. Nice ending as well.

Thanks for posting,
Dave

Floyd,

Not only is the music great, but.

Very "Inspirational".

Really enjoyed it.

Thanks for sharing!

Another great tune, Floyd. No negative comments here.

I am particularly impressed how you can set the mix with all those guitar parts going all at once without creating a messy, muddy distracting jumble. I know, it's in the EQ and the panning and such, but I just haven't learned to really do it yet.

Hi Floyd.

Nice to see you keeping up your impeccably high standard.

Nice arrangement and I simply can't fault the mix. Add to that, the very clever lyrics, excellent vocals and harmony and you've got a winner.

Hi Floyd

I really enjoyed that. The arrangement and the lyrics are excellent.

Hi Floyd
remember what I said to you - that "music" had disappeared in the so-called "POP" world and had gone to C&W. Clever, thoughtful and/or humorous lyrics, great tunes and real instruments playing real people (and I include BIABs RT players in that).
This is a perfect example. AWESOME!!
Loved the song and the way it progressed to Rebecca Lynn and then at the end you had the neat Coda break (if thats what its called) that took us back into the chorus for the final time.
In key of G and I soon grabbed my acoustic and was riffing out those chords with my little pinky doing the RnR bit on the chords.
SUPERB.
cheers

Floyd,

I agree with all that has been said. Wonderful imagery and great vocals. The "horns" must be buried in the mix, I couldn't hear a one of them.

Just great all around, every dimension. As good as anything I listen to on the radio, if not better than most.

Those are real harmonies, sung independently, aren't they? I am gradually less excited by the harmony-machines, even though they get better and better.

One question, forgive my ignorance... barrel races? Is this something I should go to? Been a long time since I was in Texas.

Another hit for floyd jane radio. Had my boots scootin'.

I love this forum. It seems like "family"...

Guenter - Thank you. It's about time for some new from you (which I look forward to). The harmonies are, in fact, "real". Although, the fact that you "wondered" makes me "proud" of the BIABettes....

Dave - Thanks - it really pretty easy with what PG has given us...

Frank - appreciate that, as always.... missed ya, man... you need to get some new stuff "out there" - you should have been on the list...

Daisy - Panning is important, but I don't really do any EQing to the tracks - they are exactly as they come out of BIAB - it's incredible stuff...
Posted By: floyd jane Re: Bull By The Horns - 02/06/13 11:49 PM
ROG - I really do appreciate that you "take a listen" and take the time to comment...\

Joanne - Thanks.

Ian - so glad you "enjoyed this"....

austin - You are a funny man - "Horns".... isn't it about time for another from you???

Bob - I assume you are including this as a "bonus" to that CD of mine you are selling??? (But, seriously.... you are doing some VERY COOL sh**)....

And Brad.... you always seem to get your own reply....

>>>> Those are real harmonies, sung independently, aren't they?

They are. I did 2 harmonies - and as I was "auditioning them" they seem to both work, so I left them...panned left and right...

>>>>> One question, forgive my ignorance... barrel races? Is this something I should go to?

Barrel races are a regular rodeo event - most often, a women's event..

I second what everyone said!! You have a comercial sounding voice. I think that should be on the radio! occ

Hi Floyd!

I'm very late to the party with this one! All I can do is say ...

... to everything that's been said above. This is truly outstanding from every which way one wants to look at it.

I'm always impressed by the metaphors you discover and the way you unwrap them in the lyrics. You're one heck of a talented songwriter.

All the best,
Noel

Posted By: floyd jane Re: Bull By The Horns - 02/15/13 11:19 PM
Tweaked the vocals just a tad... can you tell???
Posted By: Noel96 Re: Bull By The Horns - 02/16/13 12:10 AM
Hi Floyd,

I can't hear what was tweaked because it was already a brilliant song when I first heard it. It's still brilliant now. That being said, though, the vocals are incredibly clear and fit into the mix superbly. So whatever you've done, it certainly works!

All the best,
Noel

Fun song.

Hi Floyd

When I said in my first post that some on here were singers you were included in that statement.

But need to add to that that you are also a great songwriter and in the country style which you have adopted very authentic too you must be very busy working in Nashville.

Well done love the lyrics

Noel - it needed some even-ing out. Some highs brought down, some lows brought up...

Josie - thanks for the listen.

Darren - appreciate that, man. Looking forward to what is next from you...

Rob - Thanks... can never have too many country-girls-on-horses songs...

Robert - thank you - you are doing some cool stuff these days...
