Dancing On Mars

©2013 Robert Randall Burke

Crash landed but I survived
Feels so good just to be alive
These Martians don't care about that jive
They just want to dance.

Little blue ball so far away
Can you hear the music play?
Martians don't have that much to say
They just want to dance.

Bob!

You are killin' me here, buddy! I may die laughing. It is on you.
The rumors may not be true.
Another genre. NEVER expected this one.
You have GOT to say what the guitar is. You? If it's a RT - I don't recognize it - and I've been through them ALL a bunch lately. Fess up.

Aha! I just figure it out. It's that box in the closet! Button 2.

You are Robert Randall Burke - BIAB god. And I thank you for it.

Hi Robert,

this is a real fun song.
I like the guitar and your playing around with
the pan.
Funny little story. Enjoyed listening.

Like Floyd, I never saw this coming!

Bob, it's an amazing track. It's quirky, it's clever, it's just a downright good listen. I love everything about it.

And yes, please tell us where the guitar came from!

ROG.

What they said....and, as mentioned, this song BEGS for a video. In summary, quirky is cool and dittos on "where did that guitar come from?" Great production and mix also.

Absolutely loved the guitar! grin

Great Job!!

Hi Bob,

Well that made me sit up and open my eyes! This was so unexpected that I even did a double-check to see that I clicked on the right link!

Totally enjoyed the listen!

Floyd,

Just trying out all of the Dr's wonderful styles. The guitar is a RT (RT1729/SoloistTexasBluesStraightBrent).

Guenter , ROG, Janice & Bud, Greg, Noel,

Thanks for the nice remarks.

Don't know about any video. Having too much fun with BIAB to do anything else.

Regards,

Bob

Gruverider -

Thanks for the nice remarks.

Daniel,

Thanks. All that I really “performed” were a couple of vocal tracks. The rest is all BIAB.

Bob

I was half-expecting to hear the line "Don't come back here Earthling"
(see spoiler if you don't get the reference)

Click to reveal..
refers to the line "Don't Come Back Here Yankee" in Don Henley's "All She Wants To Do Is Dance"

Fun tune! I enjoyed it!

Thanks Pat. Just a bit of mindless fun. Martians don't really dance; they just kind of glide. You grok? grin

Bob

I enjoyed that a lot especially as I've just re-watched "Mars Attacks" for the umpteenth time. That song should be in it somewhere!!
A good song to be the 1st to click on after my medical excitement over the last months.
I agree with Achordocaster about the Bowie feel.

Hi Bob
Very cool tack. So different. Makes me want to branch out of my county cello tracks. Well done

Fun tune, and nice channeling of Bowie!

Thanks David. Bowie? Not a big fan of him/her/it, but if you say so..... grin

I had just never written a disco-type song, so I thought I'd have a try. Having done so, I now know why disco sucks! laugh

Bob
