This is a song I made for a friend that's been in a hospital for a while and not expected to make it out. Monica Dupont a Blues singer-guitarist with a voice like Howling Wolf, she played with many famous players and knew even more. Hendrix gave her backstage passes to concerts. POPSLO.Sty and me on a Fender Strat Guitar. Hope you like it.

Hy Tommy, I am very happy to hear you playing guitar again;-) Beautiful song, extraordinary guitar and, like on all your songs, the mix and and the sound are really outstanding.
Someday I will ask you to tell me the secret for the sound... (although I know that the real difference is ... your ears)
Thanks for share your music with us.
Rafa
Excellent playing and awesome song. Love the tone of your strat...
Thank You Rafa and Scott for you complements! Rafa it's not really a secret I mostly use presets in Logic Pro 9. It has a suite of presets for just about any instrument and Mastering styles too. On a lot of songs I don't even tweak them, and when I do it's very little. The only thing is it's only available on an Intel CoreDuo or newer Mac. Mine is a 2006 Core2Duo I got cheap on eBay, Logic too about $300 for all of it. I mix on an old home stereo I bought 23 years ago and a set of $10 headphones.
Very nice tune. Once more, it is mostly the player, not so much the equipment! Thanks Tommy.

Tommy,
We're so glad you posted this one, too. That's a super sound! love the tone on the guitar, even though I'm a Tele guy! great mix and so much to like. Loved the harmonic chimes!!! Best to you...

Hi Tommy,
nice to hear you playing again.
Very smooth.
Guenter
Tommy that was so pretty and sad. Almost like the guitar was weeping for her on his side of the stage as she was absent in the middle.... The love in the playing is felt.
Beautiful tribute for your friend.

Thanks for the info.
...seems easy to find something when you really know what you're looking for... ;-)
Thanks Josie, she is a very special Lady! Hope she makes it through her stay in the hospital!
Hi, Tommy !:))
I am sorry for the Lady in question !
We all hope that she´ll make it !!!
About your tune: Very sweet combination
of playing on a backing of lovely chords (such I
really like with lots of Maj 7 ths or 9:ns !
I really dig those chords !!:))
Cheers
Dani
Tommy,
That is beautiful. Heart-felt playing. And a beautiful mix. Don't know how you did it, but the guitar sound seems 3-D - it all around me - from 2 small speakers in front of me.
Loved it.
floyd
Thanks Dani and Floyd! Glad Yall liked it.I used a 3d reverb that came with Logic Pro 9 Floyd. It has so many plugins I guess I never got around to trying them all. Now that I look at it there are 64 different hd surround sound reverb presets and about 40 regular ones. I only just noticed it from a drum suite preset that had a "Space Design" plugin.
Hi Tommy,
It's great to see you pop back into the forum.
What beautiful song and such a wonderful tribute. Music doesn't get better than this.
My prayers are with your friend.
All the best,
Noel
Tommy
Really enjoyed the tune, as usual your balance of instruments is superb. Nothing in the way, nothing missing.
All the very best to your friend. Hope things could turn out well.
Regards
Trevor
Tommy maybe you should rename this “My Guitar Gently Weeps for Monica”.
Outstanding chops and in fact if I didn’t know this was you I would have guessed that Clapton released an instrumental. Yes it is that good!
I hope your friend makes it.
Nice to have something different (instrumental I mean). Your guitar sounds nice and played well.
Thank you so much Noel, Trevor, Mario and Paul I'm so glad you enjoyed the song. Hope all of you have a wonderful evening and thanks for listening!
Top drawer stuff Tommy. The groove and your Strat work go so well together. You put a lot of soul in this and it shows, nice work.
John
Wow that's a drum mix!!!
and your guitar tone and melodic sensibility here is off the charts!
I wonder how a modulation to maybe key of G around the 2 minute mark, when you come out of the "solo" section might sound?
anyway love the tune, great tribute!
Well, I can certainly hear your emotions coming through your excellent guitar playing. Very sweet, yet melancholy.
Prayers for your friend, she must be a special and talented lady.
Thank you so much olemon! She is a very special lady!
Hi Tommy
Apologies for being late - we've had a few things on our minds recently.
I do love a Bluesy Smooth guitar Instro and we Strat players musty stick together.
A melancholy and heart felt riff.
Neck+Middle pickup?
Loved the use of the 5th fret harmonics - they are SO hard to get "clean" and you nail them.
Let us hope and pray that Monica can make it out.
Best regards
Ian
Thank You Ian for listening, I think it was neck + middle pickup. Sometimes I can't remember what I had for Breakfast though.
Tommy sorry to hear about your friend, beautiful tribute, the guitar work is outstanding as usual. Thanks for sharing!
Outstanding and moving tribute and the tone on the guitar grabs you and never lets go. What a perfect effect for the tune.
Thank You Janice & Bud, and Robert I so glad you enjoyed it!

Me neither. ?-DID I have breakfast?
Certainly sounded a bit N&B, just that little bit of Quack that Neck on its own doesnt have.
Mine's got a pull pot on it to give Neck+Bridge. That is a great tone - very archtop 335 sounding if you EQ it right.
I hope Monica is doing OK.
regards
Ian
I have an extra pickup hidden inside my pickguard that gets put in series with the output of what ever pickup that's selected by using the bottom tone knob. It's wired like a pan knob and gives a warmer sound and takes away hum. Kinda like what a Humbucker does, when I played in bars it was great for Neon lights on stage.
