Endless Days

©2012 Robert Randall Burke/BMI

Endless days
And endless nights
When I long to hold you tight
I can't survive
Stay alive
Through these endless days.

Precious moments
On the phone
Only make me more alone
But I must stay
So far away
Through these endless days.

I close my eyes
And I see you
But there's nothin' I can do
To ease the pain
Stop the rain
In these endless days.

Something deep inside of me
Tells me I should know
What's going on in your world
When you're far away from me
Somethin' breaks inside of me
Cause I need you, girl.

Endless days
And endless nights
When I long to hold you tight
I can't survive
Stay alive
Through these endless days.

Bob, what a great song. Great guitar playing and balance. The Fiddle/Strings sitting beautifully in the background. Quality vocal, all blended with a great lyric.
Thanks for sharing. Really nice listening.

Bob,

Beautiful song. With all the trimmings... Great job on the strings! Cool vocals.

Gave me a sense of early Eagles doing an early Tom Waits song mixed with a little Bruce... lightweights, one and all, eh....

It really sticks with ya.... I'm still singing it in my head...

Bob,

I cannot think of anything original to add to the above.
So I just say I enjoyed that a lot.

I agree with Floyd's feeling of early Eagles.

OK, you want the superlatives in random or alpha order?

- The harmonies are good -- really good
- The vocals perfectly express the great write
- The choice of tracks could hardly be better to support the whole mood of the song
- The mix on our monitors sounded lush

If something else comes to mind we'll check back in.

A BIG +1

This is an outstanding song that sounds like it was produced in a major studio!

GREAT JOB!

Mike - Thanks. The strings were from the Garritan Aria player, step-sequenced in Sonar.

There is a bayou I fish that looks just like that. And, this song could easily be playing on KLRZ 100.3 FM, The Ragin Cajun.

Excellent!

Bob,

You've really out-done yourself with this one. It's incredibly haunting. Like floyd, I'm singing it in my head now as I type. Just wow!!!!!

Writing, arranging, performing and mixing - all top notch and then some!!!

My personal favourite was the first verse rhyme pattern of "Title a a a a Title" and the back-heavy lines you used for the lyrics where you started the lyric phrases mid-bar and ended on beat 1. These touches of writing genius were outstanding at setting the mood for what's to follow.

'Endless Days' was a real pleasure to listen to.

All the best,
Noel

All has been said, except that for a newbie, this is awe inspiring. Thank you so much!!!

Oleman,

Thanks. We'd love to get airplay in La. Would love to fish that bayou too! smile

Josie,

Thanks. My wife is the inspiration to all of the romantic songs.

Noel,

While I greatly appreciate the effusive comments, I might take exception with any 'genius' labels. Glad you liked it. This was kind of a strange one. No chorus and that disembodied bridge, but that's the way it came out.

KarelD,

Thanks for listening and the kind remarks.

Bob... man I really loved the verses in that song. Melody and lyric in the perfect match up. Great job on that.

I tend to get into big trouble around here when I offer constructive crits on a great song like this ... so I'll PM my thoughts to avoid getting slammed here.

Loved, loved, loved, the verses.
