When Time Stood Still.

https://soundcloud.com/tuigorge/when-time-stood-still

RD - Nashville even 8 (seems to be my favourite)
Basses - RT 713 - RT 519
Accordian - RT 1173
Children - gulls - thunderstorm wave files.

An attempt to capture the flavour of the special moments that occur to us occasionally. Tried to keep the backing as uncomplicated as possible.

Any suggestions or comments welcome.

When Time Stood Still

I re-member Elaine Paul things that ne-ver change at all
We'd hold hands as we walked to school she'd be laughing and I'd play the fool
Precious memorys when time stood still

Frost crackling in the sunshine breath flowing like a fine wine
Living for the moment may it never end laughing with a friend

I re-member seagulls cry co-ral reefs sun-burnt sky
A lonesome breeze a sudden chill red wrecks rusting on a rocky hill
Precious memorys when time stood still

Spray flashing on the topsides salt burning in my tired eyes
Wandering on the water will it never end drifting on a-gain

I re-member childhood still never changed never will
Long hard road a distant call lightning flashing while hard rains fall
Precious memorys when time stood still

Frost crackling in the sunshine breath flowing like a fine wine
Living for the moment may it never end laughing with a friend

Frost crackling in the sunshine breath flowing like a fine wine
Living for the moment may it never end laughing with a friend
Laughing with a friend

Some great lyrics here!! Very natural and emotion-evolking! I like the honesty of your voice but it would be interesting to hear with a more traditional feel as well!! Keep it up! Take care. Greg

Richard,

You are writing such interesting stuff! And doing such interesting instrumentations under them... I think that is the first time I've ever heard 2 such different bass lines in one song. The accordion worked very nicely. All so very interesting!

Keep it up!

Yes, everything about this production is different in a good way. "Frost crackling in the sunshine" is an example. Sparkling first comes to mind...but then when I think about it why not crackling? If you were on a level plane with the frost that is exactly what would happen when the morning sun hit it. Cool!

Thanks Greg for the comments. I will certainly give them some thought.

Thanks Floyd. As an ex bass player I like the idea of a lead bass with a traditional bass line underneath.

Janice and Bud. Glad you liked it. Used to walk to school in the early morning sun crunching through the frost. Jumping on the frozen puddles.

Thanks for the listens and comments. Cheers.

Rich,

Beautiful. If originality still counts for anything in music (and I hope it does) then you're the real deal.

Nice walk down memory lane, like the sound effect tracks, well produced and performed; thanks for sharing!

RichMac:

You have some great lines in here. I really like:

Frost crackling in the sunshine
and
red wrecks rusting on a rocky hill

keep up the good work.

Thank you Dean. I appreciate that comment a lot.

Thanks Robert. Glad you liked the sound effects. Am experimenting a bit .

Thanks for the listen Dani. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks John. Sometimes i just like the sound and impression of words more than the strict meanings.

Cheers. Richard.

Your 'crackling frost' line brought back many memories of chilly school-day mornings.

I really enjoyed this song, thoughtfully crafted lyrics. Well done.
