Hello All,
Here is the latest tune I did with Band in a box.

https://soundcloud.com/musingthemusic/ode-to-a-cat

The band in the box summary is below. I exported all the tracks individually and then imported in Sonar X2. I added tracks for vocal and electric guitar. All the rest was Band in a Box.

Guitar was recorded wet ( effects from pedalboard ) with Reverb and compression added on the channel for mixdown. vocals came in dry and I added Reverb and compression plugins using Sonar.

Thanks for any comments. It was a fun project for me and Band-in-a- Box really raised the level of what I was able to accomplish with the tune in a short time frame.

-Patrick

Love the song, the lyrics, the yodel, the voice, the mix and balance and cats. They don't come better than that. Cheers.

Thanks Rich. Gave your soundcloud a quick look. I think i will be singing the chorus to "Where are you Willie?" As i go about my chores today! Nothing like a good waltz and the sea.

Hi,Patrick !:))

Your tune softened my heart completely !
I just love everything about it !
You see, I have two cats myself i.e.
Naomi (the black one) and Lady (the white one)
So, my love for cats is kinda black and white (chuckle) !!

Cheers
Dani

Nice tune and I like the airy feel of the arrangement and mix. It's nice to hear some waltz RT's put into use -- don't hear that often. Kudos!

Clever, fun and well done! - floyd

I really enjoy your vocal on this, and the clever lyrics. There were several gems:)

p.s. I also use Sonar to mix the imported RT's. Have been using BiaB for about six months...what a difference it has made for me too, and the folks here have helped tremendously.

Thank you Dani, I appreciate the comment. I youtubed a video for my friends who had a little difficulty with soundcloud. As you can see I got the Black and White in one package! Please say hi from me ( and Pancho) to Naomi and Lady.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to give the tune a listen. I really appreciate the feedback. I am taking a songwriting course with Pat Pattison of Berklee at Coursera.org. This was built off of our second assignment. It's a fun class and the price couldn't be beat (free! smile ).

Thanks again for the kind words and encouragement.

Hi Patrick
I also did the Pat Pattison course through coursera. Great isn't it? I love your cat song. I also love cats but cant have any because my husband is allergic (or so he says!) I miss my black and white cat who was called Emily despite being male!
Loved your tune

Really enjoyed it Patrick! Especially liked that guitar lick climbing up the tree - very creative.

Two paws up!
