Hi Everyone,
This is a new folk rock song I wrote about discovering an old trail path and following it hiking up a mountainside. It's a love song for nature. I used two RT's I've never used before. The Koto synth and the Tres Guajira. Written in BB, tracks generated/recorded in RB, mixed with Reaper and Mixbus.
RT's used:
1681 Guitar 12-String Acoustic
405 Guitar Acoustic
Drums NashvilleEven8
1755 Mandolin
2035 Mandolin
2304 Synth Koto
1960 Tres Guajira
1523 Bass
685 Harmonica
Addie's Trail Video has lyrics included in the description.

As always thank you for listening and your thoughts.

Hey Josie
That is really wonderful. Nice and restful. The birds are singing just for me.
Mellow stuff for a Monday public holiday in South Africa.
Love the harmonies.
Hi Josie. Very nice sense of innocence and exploration and spring. Brrrr the winter is just starting here. Lovely artwork also. Cheers.
Superb job on this one. You have crafted and tell a wonderful story. You did a good job with your instrument choices and the total mix is good. The harmonies are very good. Your emphasis and raising the "just" created a nice hook. Very catching and I'm sure I'll be back for another listen. Very good job on this one.
Regards,
Charlie
Thank you JosieC. I'll have the video up soon, hope you enjoy your holiday.
Thanks Rich. That's an old painting from the PD. Stay warm.
Thank you Charlie. I used to love the mountains in TN so I was thinking about that when I wrote it. Appreciate the kind words on the mix too.
Josie
Great song! Love your choice of instruments, mix is tops, sweet harmonies, and you've written a very engaging melody to go with wonderful lyrics! I love the verse about the paper in your pocket!
Nice work. Easy listening song.
Josie:
Nice song. The chorus is catchy with nice harmonies. And I really like some of your lines in the verses, especially "beat the long shadows home."
Good job.
John
Josie,
Very nice. Good mix throughout. The mandolin lead was a bit low, I thought. The vocal and harmonies were quite nice.
Very smooth sound...

Especially like the chorus.
Lovely harmonies.

Josie,
I always look forward to hearing one of your songs. I think one of your songs was the first song I ever listened to when I got Band In A Box, and joined this forum. It was good then, and this one is good now. You are a consistently good contributor to this forum! Thanks for sharing!
Steve
Really pretty song! At first your voice seems not quite out front enough but as you get into the groove, it rises beautifully. Gorgeous song!! Take care. Greg
Josie, Really nice song. I especially like the melody and chord progression in the chorus. Sounds a little beatlesque. That's a good thing. Well done, I enjoyed it very much. Tom
Nice and mellow and very fitting with the nature motif.
Interesting choice of RT's that support the vocals, melody
and lyrics very well.
A pleasant listen all the way around. Bravo!

is one of your absolute best !
You have such a wonderful voice
and your harmonies are so sweet !!!!!
Terrific Josie !

That's a wonderful piece. Ditto on the nice harmonies comment. And i really like the nice break on "you know what i found?" And your answer. That was very effective and simply perfect. -Patrick
Hi Patrick,
I really appreciate that. I wrote the song in C with the intention of changing it later. Then the instruments just sounded so nice in that key I didn't want to transpose them which meant I had to put ye old clothespin on the backside there and go for it....
The whole song was written around "You know what I found. It don't get easier coming down Addie's trail". It's what came first in my head.
Thank you,
Josie
Josie...
Your a very talented lady...love your voice and style of writing...I'm just beginning to listen to some of your other songs but I'm loving all of them....

I missed this one first time around...(Thanks for resurrecting it Horst!)
I always look forward to hearing your projects, Josie! In this one, I especially like the harmonies; but every part of the song is awesome! Lots of fun, a real foot tapper!
On a completely different topic.. I think you should use your web site photo for your BIAB forum avatar. that photo is jaw droppingly beautiful, and I want to see it every time I log into the forum!
;-)
Hi Josie, I commented on this one before but when I saw the title, I had to give it another listen. Glad I did-really sweet!! Take care. Greg
Hi Josie,
I think we missed this one the first time. We started to post on the forum somewhere in May.
A lovely song, beautiful lyrics too and a nice video!

Thank you Horst. I really appreciate that.
Thank you Pat. Much appreciated.
I was trying a new plugin for the first time on this mix instead of using Ozone and it's not bad but I have considered going back and redoing it and changing a few things one of these days.
I guess I could re-tweak 'til the cows come home if left unchecked.
Also Thank you for the compliment on the website picture - insert blush here.
Josie
Greg it was sweet of you to listen again. Thank you.
Josie
Thank you very much Anne-Marie.
The videos are the hardest thing to do - so time consuming but I hope to do more in the future. Don't be surprised if one day out of the blue I pm you for some advice.
Josie
Hey SD!
So nice to hear from you. Thank you.
Josie
Hi Josie ...
Very pretty, indeed! You paint a great image with your lyric. Your harmony is sounding sweet! This is an uplifting song, even though I'm not much of an outdoorsman. You make it sound tempting!
Great song and production. Best to you ...
