I wrote this song after reading an interesting feature article in 'True West' magazine a few months ago about the saloon girls, or 'soiled doves' who were part of the colourful cavalcade that was the American West.
I used:
- BIAB style _BRSOLCB.STY CountryBallad
- Soloist 1669:Pedal Steel, Soloist CountryPaul
- Some Band On Demand loops
- XLN Addictive Drums
All mixed and mastered in Sonar X3e.

John, all I can say is WOW!
A great story set to song backed by pictures, super backing tracks, a strong vocal and outstanding lyrics. Add them all together, put them into a perfect mix and you have this excellent piece of music!
This is outstanding!
John,
We agree with everything Mario said. To our American ears, it's a bit unexpected to hear such a great song about the American West from a Brit. And a great song it is!
I (Alan) wish I had your voice! Fantastic vocal .. we're both liking it a lot!
This has elements of an American Western movie soundtrack with both contemporary and classic country inflections. The vibrato guitar was a real nice touch. Super arrangement!
That was real pleasure, John! Thanks for the wonderful listen! Best to ya,
Alan & Di
What a great story, song and video - I loved it.

Really classy production all the way around!! Excellent story, arrangement, and production. Great job! Take care. Greg
Hey John!
The moment I heard you singing I got an image of Clint Eastwood in Paint Your Wagon! Your voice sounds incredibly like his! Talk about hanging out with the big dogs! Wow! My point is... your music sounds very authentic and has a 60's vibe to it.
To hear what I am talking about, just check out Clint Eastwood singing some
Cowboy Favorites .
Super job on this one! I live about a mile west of the Old Oregon Trail here in the gold rush country of California. Your song shows that it matters not where you live. You nailed it! Yippie!
John,
that is excellent in every way.
+1 to all the other comments.
Alyn
Fabulous! The lyrics are top notch! What a story told.
And I just loved the video too!
Well done all around!

Yup...what they said.... loved the story song.
John,
A great balance to this. Did you play the acoustics? - they sound really nice...
Your mixes are some of the very best on the forum - and there are a lot of good ones from a lot of people...
Good vocal. Super harmonies.
Terrific write. Enjoyed everything about this...
Excellent work, cowboy.

John, excellent production and a great follow up to your Jaded Gigolo!
Hello John,
We really enjoyed Jaded Gigolo, but we like this one even better.
Very professional arrangement and mixing, very good vocals and harmonies. And on top of that another cool video.
Enjoyed!

R & AM
John. This is awesome. Well done!
Every now and then a tune has it all.....
Everything supports an interesting story -- the audio production, the vid production, the lyric and the vocal. Not to mention that we are major league Western fans. Gonna pass this one on to family and friends.
Kudos!!

Hi John,
I'm purposefully late to getting to this one.
Your hook, "Soiled Dove", really intrigued me and I have been puzzling over it since I first read it. I didn't want to find out how you'd managed to work this title until I could come up with a concept of how I might use it. After many days and nights thinking about it, nothing sprang to my mind so I've given up and have decided to jump in and listen.
Wow!!!!! Everything works brilliantly; incredibly clever.
As always, your ability to write and to perform with flair, and to produce an outstanding mix, shines.
All the best,
Noel
Superb demo, and video wow; thanks for sharing!
Hey John,
I just have to agree with what's already been said. Excellent job all around!
Greg
