Diane-ver 2

Thanx to some excellent suggestions I reworked parts of this song.

Let me know what you think.

I liked this a lot Mario! Based on your intro, I conclude you've posted it before in a different version... but I missed that.
But what I hear in this is just wonderful! I could never think up something like this!

Hi Mario ...
This version has a "crisper" tone to it than the first version. And the strings are smoother. the original was great ... this is great +1! Nice re-work!!!! Great music!

I was totally transported. I started listening with the intent of critiquing the Band-in-a-Box usage, but what I found was that the music was so enjoyable that I didn't notice and even care what was live and what was BB. I was picturing a serene setting, maybe by a lake, and either walking to or away from someone. Because of the progression and dynamics of the song, I got a little more of the walking away feeling, but it was lovely.

MESMERIZING!!

Mario, I don't remember exactly what the difference is but this is wonderfully hypnotic!! Should be part of a film. Very emotionally powerful. AWESOME!! Take care. Greg

Thanx all for listening and the very nice comments.

Pat - I think you could come up with something like this so why not try it?

Alan & Di - thanx for noticing those subtle differences.

Alyn - I'm not sure about that classical masterpiece statement! I'm a long way from that!

Charlie - thanx for listening and commenting.

Jgottlied - I'm glad you liked this and got a "walking away feeling". Here is part of the intro for the first version: "My good friend JonD just applied for Social Security and during his interview one of the topics was his deceased wife Diane. She passed at an early age of 52 in 2002. This brought back many fond but melancholy memories. Together we, but mostly JonD, wrote this song in her memory."

Janice & Bud - thank you very much

Greg - thank you very much also

After reading your post, the song seems even more powerful to me now. I believe this song perfectly conveys that kind of emotional struggle. I am truly jealous of the beautiful collaboration and the emotions this song achieves.

Mario, I'm an imitator ... original ideas just don't come to me. My idea of creating is putting a new twist on somebody else's idea.

THIS, on the other hand, is a VERY original piece of songwriting! I'm totally impressed!

hey wait, now that you thought it up, maybe I can imitate it... yehhhhhh

WOW! Mario, what a great do-over! Really nice job of "fixing" the strings - they sound GREAT!

You do this stuff SO well.

A truly beautiful listen...

Josie, thanx, I'm glad that you like it.

Jgottlied - thanx, yes there are a lot of emotions in this one.

Pat - go ahead, make my day!

Floyd - thanx. I should have know better from the git-go; I know how to unblock BiaB's strings but for some reason I didn't do it on the original. My bad!
